I haven't seen any kind of midrange game from him on video, but he seems to have a nice touch for a 7 footer from 3, and he can certainly dunk with authority.

A shot blocking 7 footer that can rebound, dunk, and shoot 3's????

Yes please.

Unless he works hard to develop one over the summer and before the season, I wouldn’t expect much of one.

All the reviews on him are to not expect much of a refined or dominant offensive game from him. He is way more of a defensive player and rebounder. He’ll contribute on offense; but it’ll be more of a cleaning up the trash around the rim and a few post shots or alley oops. But that’s okay; b/c offense is not where we need him to be dominant, especially if we get back Watford. We have Smart, Thomas, Days, and Watford to do the majority of the scoring, with players like Manning, Cisse, LeBlanc and O’Neal pitching in as offensive role players to give you somewhere between 6-12 ppg.

Modern analytics show that the mid range game is the least efficient shot at both college and pro levels. (There are rare player exceptions). The current game focuses on shots within 6 feet of the basket, the three point line, and the free throw line.

I'm not worried about his mid range shots. I'm more focused on his free throw shooting. The majority of his scoring in his freshman college year will be close to the hoop and at the free throw line.

Interesting side note that has an affect on LSU; but Andrew Nembhard is apparently withdrawing his name from the NBA and entering the transfer portal. He is the outstanding PG Florida has had the past 2 seasons and a former 5 star. He averaged 11.2 ppg last season and had a little better than a 2/1 assist to TO ratio (I believe which was only behind Smart in the league). He’s also a really solid to great defender.

Anyway, not sure what they have coming in, but have to imagine this is a loss for UF, which is good for us. Plus if by some strange and odd occurance Smart makes the decision to go pro instead of returning, Nembhard would be a great get.

It's a big, but manageable loss for them. They have a transfer from Cleveland State who will likely start at PG for them, but they lose Kerry Blackshear Jr. They have a lot of talent from their last two classes that will need to take their next step if they want to survive in the SEC.

I don't think Nembhard would get a waiver, but he would be a nice bridge to give Wade another year for Cook and Gaines once Smart eventually leaves, which is hopefully not before this season because we need him

Don't sleep on LeBlanc. He could be our best all around player next season. Will said he dominated in practice against Emmitt, Days, Watford and Manning. He is strong and a tremendous rebounder. He averaged 7 boards per game as a freshman at a big conference school. Thats really impressive. He is a good shooter too. He will get a lot of minutes next season.

He also said Hyatt was a sharp shooter from 3. And then he hit the side of the backboard a few times this year.

Let’s let it play out.

Nembhard has been a nemesis for LSU the last couple of years. He is a hard nosed player at both ends.

Another intereting angle is his younger brother is a top 100 recruit in 2021 and was projected to Florida, guess that may be changing.

Look, the numbers don't lie with Hyatt's 3 point shooting last year, but he looks like he has a sweet stroke to me. I think he just needs confidence, and if he is able to hold onto his scholarship, he could very well turn into a sharp shooter for us. Remember, Tim Quarterman was hot garbage his freshman year, then turned into a really good player for LSU.

I’m not. To be honest, I was going to include him in that secondary group but had a brief mental lapse and couldn’t think of his name. Since I was in a hurry, I just went without it. I’ll edit to include.

But the point of that part of my post was just that not everyone can be a primary scorer and we will have 4 really good ones assuming we get Warford back. LeBlanc will be depended on for his defense and rebounding and then to chip in on offense where he can, which will be perfect for his role. Wasn’t trying to diminish him.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you here. I thought about the eligibility thing when I posted. But it just seems odd that a player of his caliber and potential would w/draw from the draft only to transfer from a quality program where he had been starting the past 2 season to another program to have to sit a year before playing again, which would push his ability to go pro an inevitable 2 years more.

Curious what is going on here and if there is something that Nembhard knows or has been told regarding the ability to transfer and get a waiver allowing him to play immediately. If not, then something had to be really wrong at UF for him to delay his career a year and chance to turn pro another 2 years.

Seems like he is a little bit temperamental from observation when they played LSU and he may have clashed with the coaches.

Some UF fans say Nembhard just wasnt what Mike White wanted from his PG which I guess I don't get because white made him a starter right away as a freshman 2 years ago and nobody played more minutes than Nembhard on the roster this past season either. So not sure I buy White didnt think he fit in with the offense by playing him the most of anyone on the roster...

Even with 5 star Tre Mann coming in and Glover at PG Nembhard led the team in minutes last season.

I think Nembhard wanted to go pro early and just wasnt happy with his draft position the past few years so hes getting a new system to play in, to get a different look. White hasnt been the best from a development standpoint at UF.

Really not sure what's going on there, strange situation all around, clearly Nembhard is frustrated with something but UF fans seem to think they're better off without him and Appleby/Mann will be better.

Y’all think we got a good shot at Jabari next year? You’d like to think, with the family connection and all.

He's really quiet with his recruitment and things are going to be very weird with the 2021 class due to no summer ball, but I'd imagine we're very much in it.

Anyone else constantly hitting F5 on Twitter today?

Cant count us out for sure but early on we dont seem to be a favorite at the moment. Probably a ways to go in that recruitment I imagine still.

8/11 CB's for Cisse are for the good guys and all CB's since he announced he was reclassifying are for the good guys.

And two of those against us are the dipshit Memphis writers that are still trying to tell their sheeple there's nothing to the LSU smoke.

I'll take national writers like Evan Daniels and Brian Snow on 247 and Corey Evans on Rivals, and a guy much more in tune with basketball recruiting like Billy, who has maintained LSU has led for Cisse since the Fall like Corey Evans has.

I loved this. Evans normally takes questions for his articles on Tuesday, but was more succinct with this one
