Evan Daniels put in a CB for Eric Gaines to LSU! Daniels only ever predicts a kid to a school when he knows for sure where they’re going.
Some new Gaines highlights got posted the other day. Y’all should check em out, this kid is special. LINK

What is Gaines ranking on ESPN. He is #82 on 247 and like #88 on rivals and his composite is #80. So you would think he ESPN ranking would be his highest but
I don’t see him in their top 100

He's a late bloomer. Started to show out in the EYBL circuit last summer, but missed a lot of time with a stress fracture in his foot. Having a great senior year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bishop moves on. Nothing really stood out about his game from the little we saw of him this year even in garbage time. Didn't seem like he had a grasp of the offense and looked very timid for a point guard at this level. Assuming Javonte comes back, you're looking at Smart, Manning, Thomas as definite guys ahead of him, and then he's got to worry about Cook and potentially Gaines jumping him. I don't know where the playing time comes for him and if he wants to gamble that we don't pick up another elite guard or two next class at the rate Wade is recruiting.
Again, Bishop was a bigger recruit that some of you may think, dude was a big time scorer in high school and AAU play. Averaged about 23 points in high school senior year and practically dominated some AAU competition as well and made headlines and got nice offers. Not sure how much injury is holding him back as wade has mentioned but unless a guy like Kuminga come sin and says I want in I dont think you just up and replace him with some nobody just for sake. He's only a freshman, most guys take time to develop. Plenty of previous LSU guys weren't much their frehsmen year but blossomed into solid to good players. We dont have the roster to have all freshmen and sophomores on it like a UK. gotta have some guys with experience.

How in the heck are we going to massage the numbers for this roster. We must be having more of an exodus than currently advertised if all these guys are takes

As of this moment we should be good.
In terms of who COULD come back, we have:
1. Manning
2. Cooper
3. Williams
4. Smart
5. Days
6. Hyatt
7. Bishop
8. Watford
And we are bringing in 6 for sure in:
9. Thomas
10. Cook
11. Wilkinson
12. Ezewiro
13. LeBlanc
14. O'Neal
So that's 1 over, but it's no secret Williams is gone, so we'd be spot on right there. If we add Gaines, we just need 1 more to leave, Watford could go NBA, and if not replace Cooper. If Watford left for NBA I still think we ultimately replace Cooper with another guy, and would leave us with an extra spot instead of just 1 for Gaines.
We arent going to stop recruiting Anselem, Cisse and Kuminga though.

No doubt. Cooper would be a casualty if Watford stays. Hyatt may also be a purge possibility after that IMO.

I agree. He's not going anywhere unless we need to make room for Kuminga, Anselem, etc. I just think that if we need to drop someone after the dust settles with who we bring in and draft entries, Bishop is the one to go after Cooper.

Cooper, Hyatt then Bishop if i had to guess an order. I think we will lose 4 from the 8 coming back.
Williams is the obvious. 1 of Smart or Watford will go pro. Then 1 more transfer.
Leaves us 3 more spots, which is big with the reclassification group plus Gaines. Plus a grad transfer is possible.
4 leave bring in Gaines, Anselem if he reclassifies, and Kuminga or Cisse if they reclassify. If not a transfer.

At this point Anselem and Gaines look very likely, so that means 3 underclassmen must go.
Williams Cooper Hyatt
If Kuminga and Cisse want in, the guys I would think to be exit candidates would be
Watford Smart Bishop

We in a great spot boys. Gonna be deep as hell next year.

I'm curious as to where people think Javonte would be going next year? I haven't seen him on any NBA Draft watch lists. He could really benefit from coming back for another season.

Do you think he has improved since last season?
Playing with bigger more talented players may improve his game.

He’ll be back. I’m at nearly sure of it.

He has improved his game in the sense that he is a more balanced player than he was last year. He has developed point guard skills that he didn't have last year. However, he doesn't stand out in any one area right now to show signs that he can do it at the next level. He's a solid passer, not a great one. He's a capable ball handler, but can't slice you up like Skyler. He's a solid athlete, but he's not breaking down the defense by forcing helpside to come. And he hasn't been the shooter he needs to be. He has the potential to get back to his more comfortable role that he played his freshman year next year or showing more consistency and growth in his second year as a point guard. Javonte is a hard worker so I would be pretty excited to see him put it all together next year at LSU.

Javonte's best asset is his mid-range jumper and runner. He usually makes those and those are NBA type shots you'll need. He wont make the jump yet but I think people are being a little tough on him. Consistency is the biggest thing he will just have to keep continuing to improve on.
He's better than last year and I suspect he will continue to get better next year.

Billy Embody and Jerry Meyer also CB’d Gaines to LSU this afternoon

Very realistic shot at getting Anselem, Kuminga, and Cisse for 2020

Posted on 2/20/20 at 6:43 pm to UnluckyTiger
Three reclass players in one class would be surprising. A lot has to happen, including eligibility.
Posted on 2/20/20 at 6:46 pm to UnluckyTiger
Is it anything other than being considered for Kuminga or Cisse or are we projected to get one of them?
