LOL, TJ was likely getting both players
well they had a much longer time to commit with TJ and Coleman was letting comments drop about how he liked Texas Tech and how they wanted him. Also Geert said that after Jones got hired that he had a connection with jones and would nudge shane a little more because of that. Those two had every opportunity to commit to Trent and they didnt.

For those of you worried about the "Rating" of our recruits coming in. Most recent example of an underrated player.
Marcus Thornton
Espn - Unranked LINK
Rivals - 3 star LINK
I see some very good talent on, and coming in on this team.
If Johnny Jones can bring back a fast paced offensive game to the PMAC I can see Hickey and all of the other guards excelling in this system. Stringer is the exception but if he can just be a good spot up 3 point shooter then he is valuable.
The most important thing to have a run-n-gun offense is to have a dominating rebounder to get the board and outlet. JOB showed that he will attack the glass at the end of last season.

The recruiting services do a poor job evaluating junior college players. Thornton was well known by coaches and visited LSU, Kansas and Kansas State.
Out of the top 20 JUCO players in the country on JUCOjunction.com, 7 have no stars, 1 is a 4 star and the rest are 3 stars.

Rolle ended up being a good player. Not 5-star, but he would have been a solid starter at LSU had he stayed. The red-shirt year when he transferred to La. Tech did him good.

yeah that redshirt gave him a chance to get his back right

Since he is still listed on this thread, thought I would point out that Johnny Jones did not watch Norvel Pelle's game. Very bottom of article.
"- 2012 forward Norvel Pelle was in action for Buckets Academy, who reached the title game of the 17u Platinum bracket in the Pangos event. In attendance for his game on Saturday morning were head coaches Steve Alford (New Mexico) and Fred Hoiberg (Iowa State; left at halftime) along with and assistant from San Diego State. "

Had a TCU offer. Damn Trent! Dayton?

Hello.
We were in the running for him at the end and were disappointed he went to UCLA.

I think all three of our commits are solid players from the film I've seen on them. Rather Trent was recruiting them or not, Jones did a good job of solidifying there signings.

In the running for him? He signed with us. Trent let him out of his letter when Brady was fired.

Bubba, quick question, why was Nate Guy removed?

I haven't seen him in connection with LSU in months. I will add him back if something comes up.
Do you know something?

Is there any chance that Geert is scouring the Euro Leagues for bigs for LSU? Is that a realistic possibility?
I know next to nothing about international basketball.

Yep. This is the bottom line. Coulda/Shoulda/Woulda doesn't mean a thing.

It would behoove us to add him to the staff, as a recruiter/scout, however I'm not sure what his interest level is. Does anyone have any clue who Jones is after now? Are we even looking at Pelle or is it forgone that he winds up at SDSU?

Geert can't be added to the official staff. He is in Europe as a player's agent and will become World Wide Geert for this staff.
