Depends on the portal, what we bring in and what we lose. Could be a lot

Biggest thing we need is a pg who can control the game and some outside shooting

I wouldn't expect either to start off the bat, but Chest should be helpful off the bench and the guard is obviously stepping into a position of need.

Next year is more about the improvement of the freshmen from this year as well as Fountain, Hayes, and Miller.

If we keep the FR from this year we should be much better next year.

McMahan had zero players and built a team in a month. He did lose his footing this year and let the season get away from him. We'll see if he rights himself next year. Sometimes this happens to coaches from smaller conferences but they can adjust.

He won't be fired this year and Woodward's job is safe.

And yes, regardless of how fun WW made LSU basketball, Woodward did the right thing in firing him.

That's ok to disagree. I'm looking at the situation from a legal ethics standpoint. If Wade were a partner in a large law firm, was caught on an FBI wiretap saying what he said, that there is evidence of the direct payment of players and other possible issues of fraud, he would be fired and could possibly lose his license to practice. While I don't know what initial conversation Wade had with Woodward, the evidence suggests that Wade lied to the AD as to the level of his inappropriate activities. You look at some of the terms of his re-negotiated contract giving the AD greater flexibility to fire Wade and you know there was skepticism on LSU's part that Wade did not fully disclose his objectionable dealings. When the fairly detailed report came out, it's possible there were specific details that contradicted statements Wade made to keep his job. That alone would get him fired.

I don't have any actual knowledge and have not lived in Louisiana in over 30 years. I'm just speculating, but that's where I think the evidence is pointing. When people claim that Wade was railroaded or that Woodward had no basis to fire Wade, I just don't see that.

McMahon will be replaced after 4 or 5 years of poor to mediocre results. That is my prediction. He is an above average mid major coach from a program that was built before he took over. He has had a talent issue this year, but his problems go way beyond lack of talent. He is not ready for this level in recruiting, development, game planning, and in game coaching.

You could be right. In fact, I think that's the most likely scenario. However, there are cases where good coaches have a rough first few years but right themselves. Coach K is an example (although from a generation ago). I hope McMahon follows that trajectory.

You have given the most logical basketball explanation out of anybody on the board

I like that you said that mcmahon could learn from his mistakes and adjust or be mediocre and get fired after 3-5 years

I’m rooting for mcmahon; because I’m rooting for lsu basketball

This year was a wash but doesn’t mean we can’t improved

LSU is not going to be okay. Was LSU okay under Johnson or Jones? This attitude helps to explain why LSU men's basketball blows way too often!

The problem I have had this year with CMM is that there has been no improvement. I guess I can't judge too much when the talent level elsewhere is quite a bit better. But getting beat handily by every SEC team including the bad ones, is very frustrating.

We need Jalen Cook to transfer back. Would he have to sit out a year?

His team looks like they quiet quit. I mean, they are on the court, but not playing like they care. That’s a giant red flag. You can’t control talent but you can control effort. I’m bearish.
