I would like to hold out hope he would flip to us if he commits elsewhere, but I honestly can't remember very many if any top basketball players reneging on their original commitment. Now in football, it happens regularly. I think it has to do with the fact basketball recruiting is dirtier, probably due to the aau handler/coaches of the elite players locking these players and their families down to the school they are steered to.

He seems to be trending toward Alabama according to the two recent future casts on Rivals:

Still no CB's on 247. Although we did pick another for Alex Fudge.

Ezewiro makes Will Wade's second Oak Hill Academy recruit. Is there any connection between him and the school? I mean, this is where Melo, Stackhouse, Josh Smith, Durant (he transferred before graduating), Rondo, etc...

Ezewiro is Wade’s first recruit from there. He was actually committed and signed to the 2020 class and should be on campus now; but he reclassified to 2021 (good decision on his part) and actually now plays for IMG Academy.

But Wade got Ezewiro before he got Thomas.

As for a connection, I would imagine that since the school is in VA, then Wade likely developed one during both of his stints coaching at VCU.

2021 five-star Jabari Smith will announce his college decision this Friday, he tells me.

Choosing between: Georgia, Georgia Tech, UNC, Tennessee, Auburn, & LSU.

Sounds like you know him. Ask him if he's going to LSU and report back to us.

Updated with Fudge commitment. We may not have any more commitments in this class unless we have a surprise transfer/draft entrant. I am projecting 4 spots open if Javonte, Trendon, Manning, and one of Days/Thomas leave.

So, I have a question about the 13 roster spots. Unless I'm not counting correctly, we have 13 scholarship players currently (counting O'Neal). I've read that Fudge is coming in for the spring semester as a redshirt player. I thought redshirts counted against your 13 scholarships. I don't know how the numbers would work. Is O'Neal a self pay and not on scholarship? Am I not counting the scholarship players correctly or not right about redshirt rules? Is one of the existing players going to transfer mid year to open up a spot for Fudge? Thanks.

I'll just go ahead and be that guy - they are recruiting that Ezewiro spot in the class still, very much so.

Bryce McGowens is supposed to select his final 5 Monday. He was formerly committed to FSU.
