Project once we get to a lull in the off-season I’d love your thoughts on some of these how-to-builds at other places. Everyone keeps pointing to a “Skenes and White plus a few” model, but that’s lofty. Meanwhile other schools are taking flyers on guys that seem to us like a reach, and hitting on enough of them to A) build a really nice team and B) to have us wondering why we can’t find production at a higher clip. And before anyone says that lsu doesn’t do nice teams, we do CWS teams - I agree. I’m interested in what there is for us to learn from others who are going about things differently.

The Texas Tech thing is that Tadlock is against NIL (much like Dabo). He's basically denied booster money. He essentially said earlier this season that he's going to have to change cause he can't win his old way. It sounded like he was finally willing to buy a roster this year. Masen Belding is playing in the Pacific Empire League with the Lincoln Potters again. He played for them last year as a high schooler. It's the same league Ruckert and Patrick are playing in.

Once he graduated I threw in the towel on keeping him. His value here would have been as a DSA, basically an extra arm that wouldn't count toward the 34 man roster.
But you can't blame him for wanting more of a role than that. Congrats to the two-time national champion on getting his degree. I hope he finds success at his next stop.
