Lock down CJ Weinstein and and at least one outfielder, and hope that the top end of our pitching class doesn’t all get taken.
Hirschkorn is a pipedream, Logan Schmidt is too, but hopefully we can keep most of the rest of them.

Project, how do you feel about santerelli?
Posted on 4/18/26 at 3:39 pm to AlecRock23
That he profiles mostly as a first baseman helps our chances, but he’s still a big risk.

Which position players are projected to make it to campus and make an immediate impact

Project will the MLB lockout next year have any effect on the draft class/prospects currently on the team? Good, bad, or business as usual?

I think fringe guys could more easily be coaxed back, after next year. Not this year.

How do you feel about the overslot mock draft simulator thing

I’ve run it a couple times as the Cardinals. I think there are some guys way under valued on it, like the third baseman from UCLA. But while fun, I don’t think it’s useful in figuring out if guys will get picked.
There might be some takeaways from the numbers they put for our commits. I don’t know if they’re just arbitrary based on his rankings or what.

1 Hayes Holton RHP Loranger Texas
2 Braylen Montgomery OF Walker Oklahoma
3 Lucas Lawrence LHP Catholic Mississippi
4 Logan Sorrel RHP Parkview Baptist Kentucky
5 Mills Richardson RHP Catholic Southeastern Louisiana
6 Dominic Pellegrin SS Holy Cross Tulane
7 Bradyn Cupit LHP West Monroe LSU
8 Alex Richardson RHP Belle Chasse Southern Mississippi
9 J.D. Alexander OF Barbe Texas A&M
10 Landon Brewer RHP Minden Louisiana Tech
11 Miller Sheets SS Sterlington Baylor
12 Evan Vincent LHP Teurlings Catholic Louisiana-Lafayette
13 Grant Sunstrom RHP LSU Laboratory Louisiana Tech
14 Hudson Browning C East Ascension Northwestern State
15 Myles Ledoux C Barbe Louisiana-Lafayette
That they only went 15 deep is telling of the amount of talent in state for this cycle.

thank you.
yea class is pretty top heavy
I do think Braylen is going to be a superstar in college.
I think Cupit is an absolute stud at LSU too.
some of the others could be with development.

Project, Any position players who will be day 1 contributors in the upcoming high school class should they make it to campus?

Whichever outfielders make it to campus will have a chance to compete immediately. Weinstein and Loew on the infield.

Project know much about Kolby Stringer?

Not too much other than that he’s a late pop up guy getting draft heat. Previously committed to Pearl River.

Looking around the country for underclassman performers. Ran across Jamie Laskofski from William&Mary. If this guy enters the portal, he's going to be one of the top targets for a lot of schools.
Stats
Played 3B as a freshman, SS as a sophomore. Has good numbers against power conference competition.
Strikes out less than 10% of the time. A nearly .300 ISO. 6 triples and 28 steals so far this season with 9 homers and 8 doubles.
And he doesn't turn 20 until August, so he's young for being a sophomore.
This is not saying we're connected to him or even that he's in the portal. Just an interesting name I found today while looking around.
