The most interesting part of that graphic is that it looks like Lucas Lawrence isn't committed to Southern Miss anymore.

Lucas is heading to an SEC program . Blowing up after area code and east coast pro .

He went 3 innings against Breakthrough with 6 Ks. Which means there is a decent chance he struck out all 4 of our commits on that team. And a couple of those commits will probably never see a college field.

Effortless velo. Frame like Cooper Williams but fills it out a bit more. Seems very polished already. Command of all pitches. Re-classed from 2027.

I wonder if the reclass favors LSU over MLB? Seems awfully young for life in the minors.

He makes a point about the pitcher not being 18 until after the draft. Does that make him ineligible?

No, just more attractive to a model-heavy team. He’s essentially the same age relative to his draft class as Eyanson was to his class out of high school.

Means he won’t be draft eligible until he turns 21 (Junior year)if he makes it to college. He would be required to stay 3 years at LSU. Usually, not always, when players reclassify up they are intending on getting drafted.

Josh Pearson and Brady Neal were anomalies in that regard.

Yea, so was Noah Franco at TCU. You just don’t know with the draft these days. I never thought Curiel was going to make it on campus. I think mlb fought back this draft (2025) with the highschool kids.
Josh and his older brother were held back in middle school and then reclassified back up junior year in high school. The older brother was drafted 3rd round. John stayed back.
Your value is higher if you’re under 19 out of highschool. That’s why they do it.

I listened to Jay's entire press conference today. The only thing I heard that hasn't been mentioned and that I didn't know was that they are also hiring his former Arizona shortstop for player development as well. He just got released from the minors. Jay called him and Milam 1A and 1B for his best shortstops he's coached. Should be a great addition for Milam and the infielders.

Did Beck have eligibility left? He was a senior last year.

I do know Jay stated that 1 player not drafted that didn't enter the portal did not return. Wasn't sure who that was.

The class of 2030 rankings dropped from PG yesterday. These are the kids going to 8th grade. Tyler Early, as expected, is ranked number 1 overall. He is originally from Alexandria area and moved to Tomball to play with the banditos and go to school there at 11. Huge kid that’s works his arse off. These rankings may change but doubtful the top 2 do. Cabrera’s kid is #2. Both are studs and have been since they were little. Tyler might end up having to make a choice as he is already up to 90 last year in 13u.

They shouldn't be going out that far with rankings.

I didn't think he had another year, but he seems to be the only one that I can tell that fits the description.
