They may get a nice class of pitchers from this fr class

Santerelli would be a coup as well

He committed to Tulane as an 8th grader iirc. He was advanced for his aged and was just ok most of his career. But he had a good SR season

I was just thinking this, because there is still a run of highly ranked HS guys getting picked right now. That overnight board reshuffle is just going to lead to more.

I’m patiently waiting for Project to come and tell us some great news so we don’t have to sweat anything out tomorrow.

Even though I know better, unfortunately around this time every year I get my hopes up only to have them smashed to pieces

I agree Jay will be busy tonight and tomorrow morning.

While the class can still get hit hard tomorrow, losing only Schmidt, Hirschkorn, and Roberson today is outstanding.

Pretty much best case scenario today, I expect to feel the pain tomorrow though

I was telling Wild even if you only keep 1 of the most likely guys to go tomorrow (Washington, Murphy, Santarelli, Adams, and Stringer) I would feel good about that. That would be only 7 guys drafted.

I'll take Davis, Nawrocki, Sides, Stringer, Beaty, Evans, Brady and the rest of the class and feel great.

I have a sneaky feeling one of Washington or Murphy will feel slighted and bet on themselves. I'm not getting my hopes up, but it's fun to think about.

According to one of my pods listening to, LSU made Washington and Nawrocki a priority. I expect NIL was involved

I'd feel better about that if LSU didn't already have 3 veteran starters in the outfield already lined up for next year.

If I had to guess both sign, but since Jay has placed emphasis on Washington he would be the one that may get through IMO.

You could really argue that all position groups are pretty full for next year, but the following year it opens up alot almost everywhere. Kids generally don't think that far ahead but you never know what conversations have been had between Jay, the kids and their families, the agents, etc. Again, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Washington is the only one I’m surprised hasn’t been picked.

Washington, Murphy, and Adams are dudes. I also really like Sides, maybe not quite as much as Hirschkorn but I like the projection for Sides alot. Nothing against the rest.

Going to be a rocky first few rounds tomorrow. Any teams look to be shaping up to be saving additional money based on what they picked today? They can always come in with college seniors tomorrow but I wondering if there are guys today that are going to turn away a lot of their slot.

That definitely makes it hard to believe we can really come out smelling like roses. Most guys that have 3rd round projections are going to either have to have extreme humility to wait their turn or be so arrogant that they don’t think the depth chart matters and they will start no matter what. The former is a rare personality type in sports and the latter ends up being a locker room issue when things do go their way.

hard to say. I think the braves last year gave their first 5 picks over slot and then drafted like 8 straight 4th year senior who would sign for whatever it takes to make the first 5 rounds work.

They signed Kade Woods for 5k

Because he was willing to sign for $5k.

There is a market for those guys.
