Thanks! I was trying to remember. Interested to see how he does at State. How you do you think it will go?

I thought most LSU fans were against O'Conner due to his ties to Mainieri. I thnk he will do well at Mississippi State. I am so thankful LSU got Jay Johnson.

Would Calloway have any eligibility?

Jay was on Hunt’s show today saying they’re going to be very selective in the portal this year because the foundation for next year is already in the program.

Hoping Ashton takes a leap next year, given the power potential.

I’m guessing that he wouldn’t enter the portal unless he did.

There have been a ton of guys entering the portal that probably don’t have any eligibility but are hoping that something changes between now and the fall.

Arrambide
Milam
Curiel
You start up the middle and build around it.
Evans
Schmidt
Nice top end arms to build your staff around, too.
That's just to name a few.
I still believe you need to add some impact guys in the order and on the staff to go with the returnees not named above and the incoming class. But, they have to be a good fit for the guys named above and with the returnees not named above especially but also with the incoming class. Simpson is a good start.

They definitely will go and add an established weekend arm, if not 2.

I also think Williams has starter potential.

A rule change or some sort of individual appeal?

Any news on him returning? It seems like he was a lock to hit the portal based on his lack of playing time. I hope he returns and kills it.

I think out of Evans, Schmidt, Rizy, and Williams, 2/3 end up being high level, top end starters.
We've seen Anderson take an absolutely massive leap year 1 to year 2 under Yeskie, and he's the only arm from last years class still on the roster. I think those 4 all have the potential to make a big leap.
I know conventional wisdom says to send them off to the Cape for summer league, but I'd love it if you could just keep those 4 guys together all summer and let them push each other. Whether that be in SL or staying in BR and working in the pitching lab/weight room 10 days a week.

Finley Bates from San Diego State is in the portal. We’ve been connected to him in the past. He’s got MLB bloodlines.

I wasn't really naming Evans and Schmidt as starters. Alot to process and digest before next season. But, Evans and Schmidt are elite arms to build around. I also really like Cooper Williams as a young arm. Noot still has so much left in the tank - he's still just in his figuring it out phase after injury - he has a ton of electricity left when he just lets it rip.
ETA to not exclude Rizy. The kid is already good, but still a kid too.

Looks like we are turning up the heat on Tomas Valincius

If we’re looking for a 1B, we could take his brother too

Have not followed the incoming class much yet. Are there any are slim chances to make it to campus. Last year we knew Griffin and Bateman were signing, but guys like Schmidt, Arambide and Fountain and others were always sort of up in the air. Just wondering if there is any insight.
MLB.com has 8 guys as top 100 draft prospects from the class. A few of them like McKenzie, Fauske and Patrick have been risers in the last updates.
Serna, Hodge and Rickens are on the list too, but Project said some are talking about Hodge being a possible 2 round pick. He’s a left handed hitting catcher, which is a scouts wet dream for some reason.
There seems to be a ton of Arambide/Fountain type guys that are toss ups and probably have a ton of different opinions on what their value is.
