Most interesting part are some of the names he didn't talk about at all. such as Kling, makes you wonder whose decision that was to hit the transfer portal.
He didn't mention any of the players who entered the portal by name. He's a pro and knows what he's doing.

Sounds also like he was a little disappointed in a couple of the players that entered the portal. Almost saying that one thing was said to him in exit interviews and then another thing said a few days later when they called back.

I think people are blowing that out of proportion. I don't think he can blame those kids when the exit interviews are a day after they get back from the season ending. They don't have enough time to really think through the options at that point.
To add to this, he also said he understands that some of the players have to look at other options and that is just how the game is now. Same thing with the game changing and him having to constantly look in the portal for more talent. That is why he made the comments about not being able to build a program and have to take each team year by year.

I ageee to an extent. Yes decisions can change after more thought but most these kids have a pretty good idea what they are doing by the time the season ends and that meeting happens. There’s a reason most these kids enter the portal and commit immediately.

My comment was more toward Jay being pissed/frustrated that happened. I think that part is blown out of proportion. They might have an idea but if they on the fence about it and Jay is having the exit interview/re recruiting them for the next year and they just spent the previous 24-36 consoling teammates from the season ending I think it could make them question the decision even more.

I think he sounded pretty pissed off in that interview

Maybe but it seemed to me that there were one or two that he thought had a pretty decent chance of returning and are not now. Like just be honest and say you're still considering your options.

He sounds exactly the same in every interview he does.
If that is him pissed off then he is an extremely laid back person, and I think we all know there isn't much laid back about him.

Not in the top 200 on MLB.com

Could be. Played catcher and 1B at Indiana St. this year.

I think it’s more likely he comes here than goes to the MLB.

He’s not listed in the top 500 draft prospects on futurestarseries.com
For reference jones is 287 and Pearson is 470something
Good signing if he makes it but this gives me PTSD to the Tebrake, Pineda and Young transfers that ended up getting drafted.

I’ll add him to the list tomorrow. Headed to Busch stadium to watch Skenes pitch.
