Ryan Kucherak, INF, #2273 (Northwestern)
Is this really Northwestern of the Big Ten and not Northwestern St?
What a weird landing spot if so. Northwestern is probably the worst Big Ten program. They havent been to the NCAAT since 1957 which was their only appearance in history. The last year they had a winning overall record was 2000, 30-27 overall.
Got to think Kucherak had better offers than that, no? He's from Arizona and headed to a bad baseball school in Illinois...?

Missed that. Connor Simon? Would be wild to retire from arm issues as a fielder then come back as a pitcher
He pitched in HS and was the reason he injured his arm. His olecranon snapped while warming up to pitch the first game of his senior season. He was the starting pitcher for St. Paul’s vs John Curtis in their state championship game when he was a freshman. The opposing pitcher was Ripol. Simon went 6 innings and they lost 2-1. He has been clocked as high as 95. He can definitely pitch at a high level. When he was recruited by LSU, it was their plan for him to play SS because he was better defensively than anything they had at the time. Thompson was never a great defensive SS, although He did improved a good bit his last season at LSU.

Apparently Fontenot quit Texas during the season!
The Texas baseball team will have one less pitcher to call out of its bullpen for the rest of this season.
Longhorns coach David Pierce confirmed after a 7-3 loss to Texas State on Wednesday night that Grant Fontenot, a redshirt sophomore who transferred in from McLennan Community College after spending the 2022 season at LSU, has left the team. He's no longer on the online roster.
"At the end of the day, we need everybody bought in and working at a level that we expect," Pierce said. "We were just in a position where we felt like it was best for our team that we move on from that."

I mean I'll just say it, after the supposed way Grant Fontenot was originally kicked off here and also "left" Texas mid-season it's interesting to me we'd add him back and tell a guy like Victorian to kick rocks. I'd have taken my chances on Victorian at that point between the 2 of them probably. I guess they feel like Fontenot can be a bigger contributor next season though.

I expected him to land at a mid like UL especially since he is from there. Head scratcher but could be a nice reliever if he sticks around .

I was kind of in wait and see mode on Fontenot, but I guess I'll add him to the list.

Jay loved Fontenot. He had a really good fall when he was here. I believe he was planned to be the closer. Jay will cut him if he can't show up on time, parties too much, etc.
I think the Victorian situation is very different. It was not just a behavior issue. It was serious. If I'm a teammate/coach or parent of a teammate, do I have to watch my back around him or worry about my kid having to watch his back? I know that sounds extreme but it could be a real thought. I wish the best for Victorian, though.

I'll trade Moffett to Texas for Fontenot
I think Fontenot has better stuff and better command
As far as Victorian, I can't get over the fact that he pulled a weapon which I assume was on school grounds. That cannot be tolerated under any circumstances or no matter who was at fault.

Moffett has more upside, but I will gladly take Fontenot back if he has his head screwed on right.

Don't know enough about Fontenot. Numbers look good but Jared Jones took him about 400 feet the other way 115 off the bat. He did that against everyone though, so I don't know how much that means.

No Guidry is interesting. Could be wrong, but I feel like he's been in these rankings in the past - even leading up to the '24 draft.

The new HC for northwestern used to be the RC at Arizona St. Theres a connection or relationship there clearly

No Hernandez either which is kinda surprising.
He was No. 83 on D1's Top 100 Prospects for 2025 draft.
Gonna be fun to watch all these guys compete for their spots next year.

I’m already skeptical of 64 Analytics because their formula weights the wrong things too heavily.
Them using the toonces logo has me out on them completely.
