Angels still have 8 days to throw a bunch of money at him right?

How does something like that affect a guy in next years draft? Feels like it can’t be a good look for him.

He was a RS Soph. Will still have a little leverage next season to work with. Especially since he had TJ and was out 2023 season. Teams may not worry about his arm blowing out as much at the age he will be at next years draft.

Technically yes, but you would think they likely went back and forth by now and if he is coming out and saying he will come back then it is probably a done deal.
He wanted to go back to A&M. Signability was an issue and I'm curious if the Angels just took a chance to see if they can call his bluff and get him to sign. Seems like a very risky play with the way the draft is now.
We will never know how it all went down and if Prager backed off on his work or if the Angels took the risk knowing the signability issue.

A&M NIL going all in for next season

They better win it all next season. Feels like anything less is a failure

It’s going to be entertaining watching them fall short again. I mean they are Aggies after all.

Apparently the third round is the last round you can get a comp pick the next year for failing to sign a guy. So the Angels will get an extra 3rd round pick next year by not signing him.
I don't know how this affects the rest of the guys they're trying to sign, but I think it means David Mershon will be back at Mississippi State.
ETA: After looking into it a little more, it looks like this will mean they can offer Mershon a decent package to sign. I just with there were a way to make both fanbases upset.

Bobby Boser to Florida

Florida should be really good offensively. Pitching will have to make a jump.

So maybe it wasn’t quite as risky as I was thinking with the extra pick next year. Maybe they thought they could get prager to sign on slot even if he was asking overslot and if not it wouldn’t hurt them signing the rest and get the pick back next season.

In a deeper draft with another $1MM in bonus pool.
They won’t come out too bad from this.

Gives them about 200k more to sign him. I hope he is gone. He is such a pesky little frick

You know how many more sliding mitts he can buy with that kind of change???

Project, do you if the future new cap of 34 has an effect on the 27 for SEC play? Does that number remain?
Posted on 7/25/24 at 8:34 am to LSUMANINVA
They should let all 34 dress out for all games especially with pitching at a premium
I never understood that rule to begin with

With Area Code Games and East Coast Pro coming up, combined with the coaching carousel that just happened, expect some movement in the 2025 HS class in the next month or so.
We will also see the the 2026 start shuffling in August.

I'm guessing the roster is set for fall. Can you or someone post the roster, and who will be draft eligible? I'm lazy, okay?
Posted on 7/25/24 at 6:59 pm to DRock88
I can tomorrow if someone else doesn’t already.

Just from a quick look it seems that Kade Anderson is the only draft eligible sophomore next year. Milam only 9 days past the deadline.
Edit: it occurred to me that Shores and Noot will technically be redshirt sophomores and both will be draft eligible
