Kinda figured we were out on him for while now. Bring on Dickinson

With the hinting that Braswell could return:
1. Was that the reason Kuch hit the portal?
2. Does that mean we do not feel good about Dickinson; or do they not have anything to do w each other. Supposedly we have been recruiting him with a the lure of SS. If Bras returns does Dickinson still come and play 3B?

He didn’t have more errors than Braswell. There was some bad info out there. He had 9 errors last year.
He’s at Tennessee now, so hopefully he makes a bunch of errors next year.

I don’t know much about the Dickinson kid but Bras could play third. I don’t see him playing short at the next level.

I think the knock on him was he was pretty atrocious at the plate in conference play, but I could be thinking of someone else.

No that’s him. His advanced metrics are really bad, but he’s gonna be really good in Knoxville. I think Dickinson is the more advanced hitter, but it would have been nice to have Kilen defensively

It's certainly not bad. I don't think this portal class had many big-time transfers like Skenes, Tanks, Amick, Burns, Holman, etc. But that could also be because we already know those results, I dunno.

I think sometimes we overvalue a transfer target. Just bc a kid is in the portal doesn’t mean he’s automatically better than what’s on campus or who may be coming in from the recruiting class.
Especially in baseball we often get too concerned about a kid’s projected draft status rather than looking at the results imo.

Kilen is overrated because his overall numbers look good but as Lester detailed, his conference batting numbers aren't anything to write home about. He'd be a downgrade from Braswell imo

#1 LHP - 7 ERA
#1 RHP - 7 ERA
#1 C - .143 in SEC play
#1 SS - .270 in ACC play
#1 2B - .280 at a mid major
It’s just a really bad portal class. If we get 1-2 more LHP 1 more C and 1-2 more IF then we have filled our needs about as good as we possibly could.

Im sure tony will refine him some, but all that contact without the power and no walks isnt super appealing to me.

Yea I was gonna say it doesn’t seem like there’s a sure fire stud in the portal this year, definitely no Skenes or white types

I prefer a combo of Brassy and Dickinson for the same reasons. I just think 5 or 6 of those 27 doubles he hit will turn into homers at LNS

Exactly. We're doing pretty good with what's out there. Really wish we could get Fischer from Ole Miss but sounds like he's UTK bound.
If we can pull Arquette from Washington or Braswell comes back, one of them + Dickinson would shore up the left side.
