LOL at "power 5 head coach". There is no power 5 in baseball-- never has been. There was a power 4. Now the Pac 12 no longer exists and the Big 12 is losing their top 2 programs. There is a power 2 in baseball. Frankly, the Sun Belt is pretty clearly the 4th best conference and is really challenging the Big 12 for 3rd. I guess the Big Ten may be top 5 now that it has Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington. I guess the American, Big West, and CUSA are next. But if you use the term power 5 in baseball, you essentially have to be including the Sun Belt-- which is funny....

Are you saying that you don’t believe LSU tampers? Any legitimate program tampers to some degree. Some are just better than others.

Tennessee never does though. They’re just lucky all those kids grew up dreaming of playing for the VOLS.
I mean hell these elite transfers hit the portal but only after they’ve begged Tennessee for a roster spot.

Maybe they think it’s going to be tough for them to catch up if they have to do a complete rebuild. What pitchers are they returning? Seems like they have a chance at being competitive next year if they return most of their position players.

Most of their pitchers elected to not enter the portal with exception of a few (Morton, Wilson and Anatolick from memory)
For LSU, this likely means we go back to the drawing board for 3B if Kent is off the table, Henseler probably off the table and Fischer less likely. Would assume Dickinson moves to the top option as far as INF add. Most of his time has been at 2B, but he has played 19 games at 3B over the last 2 years at Utah Valley.

He committed to A&M early in the portal process. He didn’t come out and say he was opening his recruitment again, so I’m just guessing he will stick with A&M since the hitting coach and likely most of the players will stay. Doesn’t mean that with 100%, just making assumptions.

Gotcha. I saw his name mentioned earlier in the thread, but never saw anything about him being committed to A&M.

Yea I wonder if kemp is really out. He isn’t as straightforward as all the others. Maybe it was all schloss on him not playing and not earley, but earley was there and the word was he was gone before schloss moved on.

A&M goes from hiring a proving coach in Schloss with a legit resume. To a guy who’s never been a head coach in his life. Just to keep some guys who jumped in the portal. What a stupid fricking move. This will backfire tremendously just watch.

Yea it seems like a needless gamble to save one season. But whatever. As an LSU fan I don’t hate it at this moment
