Doesn’t give him leverage, but keeps his options open.

Barbe’s stud catcher Presley Courville just decommitted from A&M. Might be something to keep an eye on.

FWIW Michael Earley is getting a ton of love from the players on Twitter to be the next A&M coach. I would bet many of the bigger names in the portal would stay (LaViolette, Grahovic, Schott). Those 3 have been pretty verbal in tweets and retweets about "bringing him home."

I'm sure Cain has been talking with him. Interesting, though.

I saw that also. Seems if they hire Early that almost all would stay. I have not seen a bad thing about him. Saw a post from someone comparing him to Vitello before he became a head coach. Just a guy that a great recruiter, coach, and is a players coach who understands the young guys.

So A&M is going to steal Early back

He’s legit as a hitting coach and Schlosd owes a lot of their success to him. It might make sense for them to hire him to keep things afloat for a year. All of the assistants looked uncomfortable standing up there with Schlossnagle at the intro PC

He’s not going to be their head coach. It’s going to be Skip Johnson. If he was smart he would get Earley back to A&M with him.

If this has been done for as long as you say it has why are they waiting to announce it?

Common sense, do you interview individuals or an individual for a job? Will be announced before the weekend is over.

How valuable is Schloss without Cain? It seems Cain is by far the leading reason most of A&M’s roster is there.

Cain is still with Schloss?

If there is one thing ive learned in my years of following coaching searches, its never to go with the guy the players or former players want. Earley sounds like a bad idea

Exactly, bring him back as your number 2 guy. If you do bring him or Cain back at least you keep your roster in tact. If he fails then you make moves on your watch. Feel like you can overhaul baseball rosters quickly these days.

Yeah the whole staff followed him to Austin

I heard we were on him and he wanted to visit. Was radio silence after that. I know Miss State is all over him as well

Nolan Cain needs to go take a head coaching job somewhere outside of the SEC. He’s too close in Texas, and appears to be plucking some good talent away from Louisiana.

I think Courville may have some family ties to A&M or some connection with the school. I’m a little surprised he decommittted before finding out who the new coach was going to be.
