A lot of high end prospects will go to the combine to interview with teams, not work out.

I want Jay to get the SS from Baylor (Branch) I believe.

I hope Jay is in Tolle's ear!

Project, is Ackenhausen a Mainieri or Johnson recruit?
Posted on 6/21/23 at 10:23 pm to Bab0711
Johnson. He was a Dan Fitzgerald commit.

I hope they always have a few lefties that throw high 80s with 3 piches. Those guys are invaluable. Not everyone needs to throw 96 or above. Sometimes we just need outs, especially in Omaha.

High 80s isn’t great for today standards. You can find low to mid 90/ guys with the same impact

Probably has a transfer portal app on his phone and has notifications set on high.

Brody Brecht should enter the portal. We are going to change some of his mechanics and he will blossom into the #1 pick here and lead the calvary.
Brecht, Hurd, Herring rotation next year.
And maybe Grant Taylor.

For sure. I understand that part, my initial post just questioned why all those other high end guys were invited and not Crews. He was likely invited and the list is just wrong probably. Either way this combine ends on Sunday and the LSU guys will not attend. More important things to take care of like playing some ball through the weekend.

Wishful thinking, but I'm here for it.

Combine update:
Both days they have put out an article of the top 10 guys that stood out. Cameron Johnson made that list for Day 2 yesterday. Seems like he will end up similar to Robby Snelling last season and start climbing up higher on the draft board and end up in the first round or early 2nd.
"Cam Johnson, LHP, IMG Academy, Bradenton, Fla.
Johnson was making a push toward the first round until getting sidelined with elbow tendinitis. He returned to the mound last week at the Florida high school all-star game and outshone every pitcher who threw at the Combine. Strong and physical at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds, he sat at 95-97 mph with a high spin fastball and mixed in a couple of 80-81 mph sliders."

The list is accepted invites. I'm sure he was invited, just didn't accept.

Ok, that makes sense. Thought that but never saw anywhere that it was mentioned.

is the kid from Nicholls going to enter the portal?
Posted on 6/22/23 at 8:33 am to BayTiger13
Look out for Nate Snead. Johnson just started following him, lately that’s been an indication something is about to pop.

I wonder why Payton Tolle hasn't committed to Ark or A&M by now

Posted on 6/22/23 at 8:45 am to Midtiger farm
Latest rumors has been that he wants to stay at Nicholls for another year to work more on his offspeed stuff. It is just a rumor but to me if he wanted in the portal he would be in it by now.

Didn't see this mentioned anywhere.
Jay and Jordan are both following Cade McGee as well.
Gonzaga 3B that is ranked 185 in the 2024 draft class. He apparently broke his hand batting against Dollander and was slowed this season but still hit .293/.430/.587 with 6 homers in 20 games.
