Hit .289 as a freshman...

Maybe the change of scenery and Jay's coaching can get him back on the beam?

.973 fielding for a SS is pretty damn good

I thought he has primarily played 2B at SC. And was primarily a sub in the early portion of this season - was he injured?

And, no, I'm not criticizing bringing him in. He checks alot of the boxes.

ETA: Just skimmed some box scores. He primarily played SS last year with Wimmer at 2B. Wimmmer primarily played SS this year.

And Nippolt probably will be a graduate. He spent 2 years at JUCO before VCU in 2021-2022 and then here for 2022-2023.

Also, if we get some really good middle infielders out of the portal that could put Guidry in a backup position and give him the chance to be our closer without having to concentrate on infield.

This braswell guy would probably be comparable at the plate to Guidry and has a better glove

Was going to say if Guidry ends up being our best SS he'll probably start there, but I also think he keeps up with pitching because he has so much potential there...and a guy like Braswell would sure make a nice late inning defensive replacement for Guidry should he happen to go on the mound in an 8th or 9th inning situation.

Yeah they moved Braswell around looks like this year. in SECT Braswell was starting SS in all 3 games, but then in regional and super regionals he was at 2B in all those games

If nipple plays meaningful time for us I’d be very surprised. He showed nothing

I kind of remember Braswell being dinged to start the season. That's why I asked. At this point of the season, I've watched so many baseball games.

There's been a couple of those Wichita State guys commit as well

Grant Adler (RHP) to Kansas
Robert Cranz (RHP) to Oklahoma St

I'm also picking up that Nate Snead (RHP from wichita St) is having interest in LSU, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

Pretty wild that they have all these guys that will end up at P5 schools and they only managed to go 30-25.

Look at Kansas' record last year and then consider that they had Tavien Josenberger, Maui Ahuna, and Cooper McMurray, who were or are all key players for their SEC teams this season.

And all of them made the post season.

I didn't even realize McMurray came from KU. That's bad.

Man I really really want Payton Tolle.

Going to be an uphill battle with Oklahoma St, A&M, and Arkansas.

Yeah it’ll be tough beings they’ve been out of the postseason so long they’ve been straight recruiting the portal
