Nate Snead has followed LSU baseball account Jordan and Tutko recently more than any school I believe he’s the Wichita pitcher that has hit 100

His stats are impressive and he was only a freshman, so a couple more years of availability with him. He'd be a good pick up.

P, what's your thoughts on the timing of Wes Johnson leaving? I just feel we will be behind the curve (pun intended) with some of these portal pitchers knowing LSU doesn't have a pitching coach in waiting. Wes was a big piece of why we got Skenes bc of his MLB background.
I may be salty, but I just thinks it's shitty to have this info released before seasons end. Other coaches sitting on their couches have a major leg up in the portal at the moment due to the question mark that is - LSU's next pitching coach.
Also, I'm happy you get to see Mingione again this weekend. I know you two have beers on the weekends when he is in town...

Johnson is the biggest key in recruiting, the timing sucks and I blame that on the piece of shite reporter more than Wes.
But we'll be fine. It's similar timing to last year, except we're still playing. And it's a lot easier to sell future success when you're currently enjoying success. Coaches sitting on their couches enjoying extra recruiting time are still sitting on their couches. That can be recruited against very easily.

To add my opinion to this, with 24 hours in a day it seems like Jay sleeps for maybe 4 of them. Part of the hours he isn't sleeping is making phone calls to recruits/portal and potential coaches even though the big focus is the supers. So don't think that nothing is moving in the talks of portal players and also coaching search.
Also seem like Jordan and Tutko work super hard also. Lots of moving parts right now.

Hal Hughes brother Dom is in the transfer portal. That's not all that interesting until you consider that Dom plays at Kansas State. Kansas State is coached by Pete Hughes.

Blame that on Pete Thamel's dumb arse for tweeting it out. Wes was supposed to tell the team after the regional but instead Jay had to tell them in the postgame huddle.

Yea, I went look at his stats after that last comment on all the follows. I really like what I saw. Apparently he did well against Vandy in the regional also.

Sign me up! Dude was nails in the Nashville regional. Pitched the 8th inning with a 2-1 lead. Sat through the rain delay. Came back and pitched a perfect 9th to send Vanderbilt home.
