Milam keeps creeping up. Think the latest MLB prospect ranking had him in the top 100.
Brown is creeping up the ranks also in the top 100 now, but I think he is pretty solid to LSU. Seems he wants to be there from everything I read.

That's interesting. I hope one or two freshmen can emerge from this class to play important roles on the mound. LSU will have to go transfer-heavy, putting them in this endless cycle of rebuilding their staff every year.

We need infielders, too. Jay is going to stockpile arms, for good reason, but I think he goes equally hard after some veteran infielders after all the dust settles.
ETA: The 2025 season of pitchers is going to be alot of incumbents coming back from injury. Taylor, Edwards, Shores, Noot. You also have to think that some of the 2024 freshman and incomers will have made their mark. That could be the year of having a pitcher heavy powerhouse.

There are a couple freshman starting shortstops in the WAC that are intriguing. One of them we were connected to last year before he made it to school. The other is at a Cali school that may be in line for a coaching change.

I don’t think Edwards pitches again in college but I hope I’m wrong

He's got an incredibly small sample size of success, don't you think?

Is Noot really out until '25?
I know Shores and Edwards will be out in '24. Maybe Taylor will be back at some point in '24.
Just looked at Tanner Hall's season stats at USM. 11-3 with 2.45 ERA 100K's over 88 IP. Damn near as good of a line as anybody not named Skenes.
Would Jay have even signed him out of HS because he didn't throw hard enough? IDK.
I think being able to identify talented kids with pitch-ability like Hall who don't throw 95 out of HS is important.

Will all depend on the healing process. Can't expect everyone to heal as fast as Coleman did. However, that may start to be closer to the new normal of recovery time the more that is learned in rehabbing the injury and the better technology and drs get with doing the procedure.
Noot and Taylor could maybe come back about the time Coleman did this past season. Shores and Edwards I'm not really sure about. They will be borderline and I think it will be tough to try and bring them back around this time. Not enough time to knock rust off. Guess we will have to wait and see.

I'm not expecting Shores or Edwards back until '25 myself.

USM can take the risk. If you're LSU, it's harder to justify. Also, from the perspective of the prospect, he may not want to go somewhere just to be another guy or take the risk of being cut if he doesn't produce early. Had a family friend go through this situation. Smaller schools were selling him on being a rotation piece, and LSU is telling him, "Hey, give it a shot, you never know".
If the NCAA ever does something about the 11.7, many more of these prospects will end up on major college rosters.

I expect both Noot and Taylor to be revving up during February-March of next year as long as they don't transfer out or go pro respectively.

I leave for the airport at like 230 AM tomorrow. And will have limited access to check the transfer goings on pretty much until next wednesday. I leave you in the capable hands of TigerBoy55 (and anyone else who wants to help).

Noot and Applebey were injured before Taylor. I hope to have all three back in 2024 at some point.

I keep forgetting about Applebey. Another big, strong dude. I don't think it's been said definitively that Applebey and Noot got TJ. Or, did I miss that?

Noot had surgery in the fall. Not sure about Appleby
Posted on 5/24/23 at 8:30 pm to DRock88
I'm not sure if they ever said what surgery they had. Applebey never did pitch in the Fall. Noot they said were taking it slow because he was having some arm issues. At one point I even think he told scuba he was going to be pitching soon. Then all of a sudden they shut him down.
Taylor of course happened about a week before the season was going to start. Jay told us in the coaches committee that he spoke with Taylor and his intentions were to return in 2024. Jay then said he might not be ready in the beginning of the season, perhaps a few weeks after. I'm think more like April or May for Taylor but who knows.

Any taylor next year will be better than nothing at all.

There’s a rumor on the State 247 board that Braden Montgomery wants to come “home”. He’s from MS. I think it would be hilarious and plausible that Jay would undercut them and bring him to BR lol

What school is he at now?
