New JUCO LHP on the radar: Robert Fortenberry from Weatherford. Stats
ETA: He was originally committed to TCU out of high school.

I agree. There will be an adjustment, but I think it's better for the sport.

That would be great. 20 scholarships with 40 roster spots.

100%. Too much on coaches and players to make decisions on future entirely too far in advance.

I really hope it is. Needs to be. 11.7 is just ridiculous.

Your recruiting thread will be a little easier to keep updated with the new rules. I'd imagine it will be really busy and give us plenty to discuss when each class gets to the time frame where they can be contacted.

I know personally I'd much prefer to discuss the current incoming class and the next one (2023 and 2024 in the current case). I don't particularly enjoy putting links to 8th graders perfect game profiles on the list.
It may make me get back into the East Coast Pro and Area Codes stuff a little more now that those guys will be "newer" commits going forward. There is an element of fatigue when it comes to guys being on the list for 4 years.

Gonna be alot easier to project the future too. I counted 16 commits for one year on the first page. With just 11.7 scholarships it really makes it a guessing game as to who actually makes it to campus. I just would never be able to understand the complexities of baseball recruiting. Way too many moving pieces.

Yeah the 7th grader that commited to LSU tonight ???????

If I recall, the tweet from Kendall Rogers said it would be effective almost immediately, right? If so, does this mean we'll have freshmen and sophomores who are committed, but we can't have any contact with them again until their junior year?

You got anything more than a perfect game link? There’s got to be a Twitter or instagram post confirming it, PG is too unreliable.

He’s got a commitment post on IG

Seems like very strange timing with the announcement of the new rule change in recruiting. He might be committed but will lose all contact once the rule is enforced.

yea i dont understand it.
as far as how the new rules will work, from what i understand, no contact no matter what until junior year, committed or not committed.

Yeah that’s the first thing I thought when I saw his dads Facebook post last night.
The new rule seems like odd timing.
Side note, he’s a LHP that’s up to 83-84 as a 7th grader. Pretty crazy stuff these days
