Logan O'Neill started at 2B. 2-4 with a run scored. 3 hits and 2 RBIs from Josh Alexander out of Assumption.
Priester - 1-4 with a 2B.
Delgado loses 12-8.
I think Delgado will hit. Not sure they have much front line pitching.

San Jac is playing Delgado now. Jake Bennett homered

The Alexander kid is on fire to start the season. We don’t necessarily need a juco OF. But in the interest of getting as many talented players on the roster as possible he may be worth a look.

Alexander and O'Neill can both play infield. Alexander is 7-11 to start the season, O'Neill 3-8 but also pitched 4 innings in relief today against Chattahoochee. Interesting kids.

I don't think Fidel Ulloa pitched this weekend after only two innings the week before. It's damn near impossible to find info on Northern California JUCOs, so I can't figure out if he's injured or anything.
A pitcher that's been talked about in this thread before, but I don't think is on the staff's radar is Owen Schexnaydre at LSUE. Big bodied kid from Vandebilt Catholic. He's off to a pretty good start to his freshman year.
Trey Cehajik is also looking pretty good for McLennan in his first year as a pitcher. He's 6'7" and big, but was a first baseman his first couple years in JUCO (redshirted as a freshman). He is on the staff's radar.

how in the world do you pronounce that one?

Alexander is a ULL commit I think

I think that's right. I didn't realize that when I made that post originally.

former LSU commit, current Barbe senior, JC Vanek has committed to Chipola JC in Florida. He is the lefty that Paul had offered but Wes Johnson pulled offer from. Will be one to watch in a year or 2. Mainly sits 89-90, but has hit 92 from the left side.

I saw Vanek pitch as a soph
He had really good off speed stuff and a slider/curve that fooled those high school hitters he faced
I know he had an arm injury that kept him off mound awhile as well

he still has really good stuff, especially for a HS pitcher and he certainly could have competed on Pauls teams for playing time.
with what johnson is building....he cant currently. Maybe after Juco. He will be one to watch for sure. If he can put on a little size and a good bit of strength and embrace velo gains he could get up over 95 in 2 years and have a good chance at getting a spot.

Neal, Mitchell, Arrambide. 1 in, 2 to go.

I would give a lot of things to go 3/3 there. Blake Mitchell is a monster.

That's a national graphic and not an SEC one too.
