From what I was told both Roy and Cory left to go in private businesses. Both was their decisions. Basically it was for their families from my understanding. 2 big losses

Appreciate it.

I remember hearing about Cory; but we hadn't ever heard anything about Travis. I could've sworn I remembered seeing him around some of the scrimmages this fall, which he usually was; but guess I hadn't noticed he wasn't there recently.

Well wishes to both. I guess with Moffitt and now Roy both gone, the lineage of Gayle Hatch and Alvin Roy is gone from LSU S&C.

in some ways that is not a bad thing. i loved moffit and he has had tremendous impact in S&C as did Gayle and Alvin, but they were all very very stuck on old ways of doing things and not real interested in finding better ways. same with Travis imo.

if you are testing skills and improving certain lifts is not helping those skills improve....take a different approach. TM and to some extent TR were not very into indvidualizing everything based on each individuals Force-Velocity profile, what was working and what wasnt based on different metrics etc

I dont have a PG premium account but i saw where 2027 Jordin Griffin posted his ranking, #1 in the state and #26 overall, #6 overall outfielder.

hopefully he continues to grow as he works his arse off in the cages and in the weight room. If he does grow....hopefully we can get him.

Project I know you mentioned we were already on him last year as a 7th grader.

ETA: before anyone says....thats nuts to be recruiting 7th graders, understand chase fuller touched 90 last year as a 7th grader/13u kid, so did landon green who hit 91 this past weekend. this past weekend in the 2028 class got dexter Mccloin hitting 87 along with couple other 13u kids running it into the mid to upper 80s.

D1 Baseball updated their transfer portal recently. Bollman is listed, as expected.

One notable name is Tyler Lejeune, the former commit from Iota that went to Arizona

Didn't Lejeune just enroll there for fall?

That was a quick trigger, didn't even get to 1st season.

Makes me think he really didn't want to be there. I think he was connected with ULL and LSU then went to Arizona late in the cycle.

He's very much what we're looking for if we still believe we need infield depth, and I think we do. I know we have "options" in the infield but I'd think another LHH utility infield guy would be a take, despite the numbers. We know Jay loves the value of LHH v RHP matchups.

You could kind of see this one coming. Only topped out at 92 this fall and he was throwing 94 before he even got here. I wonder how much his injury still might be affecting him even now.

He got rocked this fall though, gave up 32 hits in 19 innings. His WHIP I have was 2.58 (including HBP, BB and H).

So Bollman and Lansville, 2 RH arms, are out.

That leaves 22 pitchers, 16 RH and 6 LH, and that includes Coleman. 7 freshman arms.

Just looking at D1Baseball's portal page and they list Jacob Fury and Darian Howard from LSU. Did I miss something? Who are these two?

Darian Howard is Ryan Howard's son. He played at a JUCO in St Louis and then attempted to walk-on at LSU. He seems more interested in his Twitch streaming career than his baseball career. He pitched in one fall scrimmage, but it didn't go well.

Jacob Fury played at Delgado. I assume he also attempted to walk on but I don't believe he saw any action in fall scrimmages. If I had to guess he's related to Matt and Nate, but I don't know for sure.

Okay I figured that was the case with them just wasn't sure. Also, I'm pretty sure Gio announced he was going to Duke.

We've started looking at some portal guys already. One was a JUCO kid that is leaving Mizzou after a semester. He tore it up at a decent JUCO not far from St Louis. I think 18 HRs his freshman year. He is a sophomore. I don't know the level of our interest, but we're evaluating. His name is Derek Williams.

Another portal kid we're evaluating is Jordan Savinon who is a freshman and spent one semester at Longwood. He's a LHP. He's committing somewhere today, so I don't think it's to us but you never know.

One name to consider is Duke infielder Tyler Christmas. He was highly regarded out of high school in South Carolina but didn't get on the field for Duke last season. He would be a redshirt freshman. I don't know if we're interested or looking at him, but he has history with Jordan.

Jacob fury is the younger brother of Nate & Matt fury. I think he’s a catcher and prob just a legacy as Nate has been involved with the program after his playing days.

I'd think we'd look at infielders and arms, preferably a utility infielder with experience in the middle and an arm that could help chew mid week innings.

Lansville taken off the roster. I think Fontenot is off it as well. Looks like we’re at 41 right now.
