I'd keep an eye on right-handed pitcher Hiro Wyatt from the Northeast. Chris Archer-like arm whip. I see he has reopened his recruitment after initially committing to Duke.
Some other HS guys to keep an eye on are Matt Hoag, another former Duke commit and Nathan Aceves. There are one or two others I feel like are close but I can't remember off the top of my head right now.

Not necessarily recruiting but I'll just post this here.

Paul Skenes doing Paul Skenes things with his 2nd homer of the day! Oh and he was also up to 96mph on the mound.

The Baseball Data Twitter feed also tweeted out some pictures of Dugas batting against DJ Primeaux.
I still don't like the wrinkly paper part of the graphic though.

I'm not heavy into metrics but how does 1 degree of launch take that much distance off the ball?
Or does that thing take into account wind direction and speed affecting flight of a ball? I always thought it was just calculating distance and height from the exit velo and launch angle.

I think it has to take in wind direction and speed. Atmosphere (air thickness, for lack of a better term) also has an effect. You can see the same velo and angle at different points of the season producing different distances.
Another thing that could be affecting it is the spin of the ball of the bat. That one degree angle difference may have been enough to put a different spin on the ball.

Among the flurry of JUCO players we've started looking at recently is Trey Cehajic from McLennan CC and Byrd HS in Shreveport.
He went to McLennan as a 1B and redshirted his first year there (2021 season). He didn't play much last year either. But now he's popped up on our radar as a pitcher. He's 6'7" 225, RHP touching low 90s. I'm guessing there is a lot more in the tank though if we're on him.
I think this is the first time he's pitched in college. We've had success in the past with light hitting JUCO infielders converting to pitcher for their last year in JUCO. Nick Goody for example.
He's one to keep an eye on. Jay had been following him for a while, but Jordan just got on him as well. We are in the market for JUCO arms it looks like. Or at the very least we're keeping the door open for them.

Anybody check out the Juco games at The Box this weekend?

I was hoping someone would have made it out there too.
I'm also perpetually disappointed in the amount of available information from JUCO fall games. It would be nice to get a handle on which guys may be prospects in the spring.

No details but I know Coastal Alabama beat Delgado 5-4 and lost to LSUE by the same score.

Looks like we picked up a commitment from Fidel Ulloa, a right handed pitcher from California JUCO powerhouse San Joaquin Delta. More info as I get it.
ETA: he’s from Lodi, CA. He’s had some high walk numbers in his JC FR season and this past summer in the Appy League. But he strikes out more than 1 per inning and had been sitting 95 lately. Touching 97.

Here's his JUCO Profile
41 walks in 46 IP, but the velocity is there
His summer stats were basically a carbon copy of that with 29 walks in 35.1 IP and 35 K

I tried to get a game by game look at his summer, but I think the appy league site and the team site took down the box scores or something. I'll keep looking.
His team is normally loaded though, they're always one of the better Cali JUCOs. It's the same school Zac Mathis came from.

We picked up a commit from 2024 RHP Stunner Gonzales from Carlsbad, CA.

Saw him after the scrimmage on Friday. Was there to watch then Josh Jordan came got him. Tall kid.
Sounds like the visit went well. Any info on him or what his prospects are like?

I added him to the commit list this morning. I haven't really found much info about him. It looks like he pitched in the Area Code underclass games. I will look for more on him.
