I think Chris Lemonis is make or break in 2024. Montgomery is only playing 1 more season so he may not care if he’s fired after the season.

State board ?insider a couple weeks ago said the thought is that IF he entered the portal he would make a quick decision and it would be based on proximity to home and a lineup that could protect him. LSU, A&M and Miss. state were the names specifically mentioned as possibilities.

Wanting to be closer to home and coming all the way from norther California, you’d have to think LSU would be a perfect landing spot for Montgomery. Also, doesn’t hurt that he was in Omaha and saw firsthand the support LSU baseball has behind it.
