If we’re waiting on a draft eligible guy, my guess is Brock Rodden. I would have a hard time seeing him sticking g around for more college ball though.

Was listening to Hunt yesterday or Thursday and he had a guy on from D1, I think (something Seifert, maybe) and he was talking about how great Skenes was relative to all-time pitching prospects. He mentioned his control as being what kind of sets him apart from previous studs. Said it was even more impressive this year because the SEC strike zone was 15-20% smaller than previous years/other conferences.
I post that here because it helps explain some of the higher ERAs/worse K:BB ratios for some of these SEC guys. We see some numbers without that qualifier, and it kinda warps our perception of just how good their stuff may actually be. (I’m talking more about us casuals, not you hard core guys).

I know he was 2022 and we won the CWS regardless, but Jacob Misiorowski struck out the side in his Futures Game appearance with just dominant stuff and I will forever hate the Draft Combine

I really don’t think we’ll get a Holman update until the end of the month. Skenes announced to LSU on July 29. Holman may decide a little before that since Skenes visited a bunch of places and it sounds like Holman will visit 2.

I went to the Barbe/Sulphur game at Barbe as a neutral observer and felt JB was every bit as impressive as Victorian. Incredible high school game. Looking forward to seeing JB in P&G. Heard nothing but great things about he and his family.
