When healthy, I actually like Kade Anderson as much or more.

It's one of those things, like we'll see with Crews this year, Anderson has been the top guy in the class for so long that scouts, sites, etc are going to nitpick flaws and look for reasons to drop him harder than they'll look for reasons to keep him where he's at.

I'm just glad we've got a really good chance at getting them both to campus.

Also interested to see what O'Brien does. He's twitchy. I actually thought he was a '22 grad. I think Jay is on him.

I think you're correct about Jay being on him. I'm actually pretty excited about the football game this weekend from a baseball recruiting standpoint. (moreso than from a football standpoint, my apathy built over the last two seasons was unmoved on Sunday)

Really don’t get why these guys are going to State, but I have no faith in Lemonis.

We can't take all of the top guys in the state, and also get big fish from out of state. It's a numbers game. You just hope that the staff's evaluations/projections are on point with who they choose to try to get in the boat and who they don't.

Brown has been way more visible as of late, too. He kinda speaks for himself. People forget how good Kade was before injury and probably wonder how he'll recover. I've personally not seen Kade pitch in person, but many guys that I trust gushed over him - they said he was just different. Assuming he recovers, it may be a good thing that he hasn't pitched much in the last year or so...or he'd be a draft risk. I seriously doubt he'll even be on the radar now. I guess time will tell, but Brown should be pretty much a lock for campus, too.

yea its kind of the opposite with him and brown. brown was injured and coming of TJ last summer, now its kade. Kade was visible last summer, now its brown.

brown has been at some really high level events lately and killed it, thats why i think brown has jumped so much lately.

Don’t know anything about him, but it’s hard not to like his resume.

All of the hires seem like they'll be here for a minute.

Wes is likely in for the long haul.

Jordan may be looking to springboard, but I don't think it'll happen for him super fast.

I don't know much about Simpson, but his resume seems to point to him looking for a good fit to settle into. Like Jordan, my be looking to springboard but probably not for at least a few years.

Wanaka and Tutko probably aren't going anywhere soon.

You also have Finley that could slide into a role once he graduates if somebody leaves and not cause much discord.

I think some consistency in the next few years is important.

FYI Jake Brown never had surgery. Only had to stop pitching due to some stress reduction in his elbow caused by a big growth spurt. Still played the field and hit, just had to avoid repetitive hard throws to let it heal correctly. Hopefully Anderson comes back strong from TJ, he’s the real deal on the mound.

good to know. i just assumed since he wasnt pitching

ftr i think jake is severly underrated as a hitter too. kid can bang and can play outfield with the best of them.

Might get to see him play the OF and hit at LSU. Jay met with Jake in San Diego at Area Code games and told him he likes him as 2 Way guy. Ultimately if Jake has to choose it’s Pitching but whatever helps the Tigers win CWS, that’s what he wants to do.

I know this, if CJJ allows 2 way players Anderson gonna be a hell of an OF and rake rake rake.

Practice doesn't start until the first weekend of October, so I don't think any scrimmage dates have been set.

Any word on what recruits came for the Southern game? I saw they had all the current players with a 3.0 GPA or higher on the field. I knew Shores was tall but damn.

I haven't been able to look very hard. I was in Pittsburgh this weekend watching Pujols hit 696 and 697, as well as watching Tennessee win in over time on Saturday.

Then I got sick Sunday night and am still recovering.
