What is so impressive with the BYU guy the stats I see aren’t that impressive?

He’s upper 90s and in 6 summer innings he’s walked 2 and struck out 13. He also finished the year strong for BYU out of the pen. He’s got starter experience but it clicked for him after he moved to the pen.

Instead of looking for reasons to not like him, look for the reasons the coaches might like him and generally you’ll find something to be excited about.

It may take looking at more than just their ERA though.

Keisel is a stud. Immediate impact, even if just as a back end guy. You really don't need to mess with anything that Tebrake does - Keisel may need a little fine tuning but not a whole lot. Big arm and wipeout slider, would need to develop another pitch to be a weekend starter, gets a little wild sometimes so they'll also have to work on repeating his mechanics for longer periods to get more than 1-2 innings out of him.

ETA: When I'm giving input on guys, it's rarely only my opinion. I see a good bit of ball but I also have some good resources locally and around the country. I share as much input as I can, but just understand that it's not entirely mine.

Just watched Jace Kaminska from Witchita State punch out 12 Houston hitters in his win. He'd be a nice pickup!

What’s the latest on Thatcher Hurd? Going to the highest bidder?

I have zero insight on Hurd, but I don't think he would need to go to the highest bidder. He's the projected first overall pick in 2024, he should be focussed on pitching development over NIL deals.

Garrett Edwards is showing on the roster for the Bourne Braves in the Cape league. He hasn’t reported yet because he’s still showing as number zero, but that’s exciting because it means they feel like he’s got potential to contribute more than he did this season.

I have my reservations with Edwards. I’m sure he’s a wait and see for the fall.
