He could start at 3B, SS, or 2B. All 3 will be up for grabs, unless Doughty somehow stays around.

Besides the injury whatever happened to Connor Simon? He was a really good Inf from the Northshore.

I think Simon is just recovering? Would've really helped having him available this year. Grant Fontenot also.

Just the injury. I think he had surgery, then either had a setback or re-injured it and had to have another surgery. He was a very good high school player and seems to have grown/matured since.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think with him it will mostly be if the bat can keep up at this level correct? Or am I off by thinking that?
Posted on 5/19/22 at 11:42 am to BayTiger13
Probably so. He was very athletic in high school, good arm. I don't think anybody really knows how to project him now. He hasn't played much in years.

He was scheduled to play summer ball in the Prospect League this summer but looks like that has changed. I'm hoping it's not a continuation of the injury.

Project, do you have a list of LSU guys in summer leagues as of now? I went look at a few teams that usually have LSU guys on them but I can't find much yet.

I saw Paxton Kling retweeted and liked Dansville tweet welcoming him to play there this summer. Reading into everything around him, it seems like it sure will take a lot to get him away from coming to LSU.

Agreed, but I think the players play the game, too. If they hover right around the fence, with a lean towards school, MLB teams stay interested and look at ponying up more money. Not necessarily speaking specifically about any one player, moreso a generalization and sometimes reflected in rankings.

Yea, for sure. I don't think that is the case with Kling though. Especially since he will be draft eligible Sophomore. Can come to LSU for 2 years and if he does really well he will be a 1st rounder.

7-8 of these guys won’t be with the program next year I reckon

Are you going to redo any evaluations on who you expect to make it to campus being so close to the draft?
Posted on 5/20/22 at 10:10 am to IM_4_LSU
Yeah, I'll probably revise them soon. The biggest changes I've seen since I first did them are now, instead of just Crawford being a lock to go, Snelling and Toman are as well.
Jared Jones I think has a better chance to get here than I originally though.
I'm really close to calling Kling a lock to get here.
The needle has moved towards us more on Guidry and to a lesser degree Romero.

Jared Jones would be huge

I’m seeing mocks with snelling going near top 10. Crawford probably has the second most helium behind snelling of any prospect. It has to be our guys blowing up

I will be very curious to see what kind of NIL/Jay coach talks can be made to get some of those "on the fence" type guys to LSU.
Not only paying attention to LSU though. This year should show how NIL may or may not make a big change to how many kids get to college campuses from here on out.

Getting Kling, Guidry, Romero, and Jones to campus would be a damn win. I’m hoping some pitching makes it too. I think Kennedy for sure makes it

I think Noot will make it, haven't heard much about him recently.
Shores would be like getting Bregs or Crews to campus. Probably won't happen, but a man can dream.
