LSU will lose a few to the portal as well

I would like to see us grab a veteran third baseman from the portal.

Please dear God, for once, I just hope the draft is good to us.
Like project mentioned we tend to get our hopes up every year that a guy will make it to campus and he signs on the last day. It gives you a feeling of disappointment but usually it was expected.
I will say, I expect more success under Johnson. I think more effort will be made to target the correct guys and to push them to campus. Johnson mentioned that NIL is just one of twenty reasons to come to campus. That fact that this staff is trying to build a team right now will also help to make that push.
I thought Cain did a good job but it appeared he was mostly on his own. We now have an entire staff working and they were in a big part hired because of their recruiting abilites. I personallly think our biggest problem will be how to trim our roster down. I'm very high on 2023.

I hope you are right buddy boy and I also hope CJJ puts together one of those 20 reasons with some attractive NIL deals!!!

I for one am on the Micky Romero train with some others in this class.

I didn’t really follow what Travinskis projection was as a catcher in HS but I think Jones is supposed to be a decent defensive catcher. I watched him in the PG AA game and he was pretty good. He’s got an absolute howitzer behind the plate.

Mlb.com gives him a 40 grade fielding and says he needs to work a lot on his receiving and footwork. Mentions he has a strong arm tho. It’s kind of exactly the same profile of Travinski. Low average, poor defense but a cannon arm and can hit it a mile.

I'm getting more and more confident that Paxton Kling will make it to campus. He's not listed on the roster yet, but I think he's going to play for the Danville Dans this summer.

Yeah I think Kling wants to play college ball. I agree project

Jonathan Mayo had Berry going 8th, & Crawford 30th in his mock today
Posted on 4/28/22 at 9:41 am to ProjectP2294
I also said the same about Kling on the first post on the last page. If he gets to campus the OF will be really stacked next season.
Only having 3 spots for all these guys.
Crews
Pearson
Stevenson
Drost
Jobert
Kling
Kling has the tools to come in as a freshman and start next season in RF. Will be a logjam in the OF/DH spot. Will be fun to see how it plays out if he gets to campus.

The BA mock from yesterday had Berry 10th, Crawford 24th, and Doughty 30th.

I think Brody Drost is a portal candidate…unless he takes a leap we just haven’t seen yet. I was excited about him too but Pearson/Stevenson playing a ton speaks volumes

Does anyone have video of Mic Paul? I’ve heard good things as a true center fielder but it’s hard to find much on him

You realize he has been hurt all year, right

Yea, Drost will be an interesting situation. I know he had back issues but even before the back issues he was striking out a ton in fall and spring scrimmages.
Other mock drafts I came across:
Prospect live:
22-Cardinals-Tucker Toman
25-Yankees-Jacob Berry
33-Orioles-Cade Doughty
36-Pirates-Justin Crawford
39-Padres-Mikey Romero
Baseball Prospect Journal:
12-Tigers-Jacob Berry
19-As-Mikey Romero
21-Mariners-Cade Doughty
30-Dodgers-Justin Crawford

I actually had no idea. I must have missed that but he was struggling in the fall

Justin Crawford getting drafted in top 2 rounds is not a good sign of him making it to campus.
Posted on 4/29/22 at 10:38 am to IM_4_LSU
He will not. If there is 1 recruit that is as close to a definite on not making it to campus it is him.
Tucker Toman and Chase Shores are right behind him in that category of recruits. Jaden Noot and Robby Snelling is also likely not going to make it.
The rest is anyones guess on what happens.

I agree with that list and maybe add Misiorowski to the draft probable. If that is all we lose the incoming talent would be exceptional in my opinion. If we add a Noot, Snelling or Misiorowski as well that would be awesome.
