Are you going to be making a post about RHPs soon? Curious on which guys you believe we actually get to campus. Assuming Chase Shores is the only lock to not get at this point.

I've been trying to put my thoughts together on the RHPs for a while now.
Jacob Misiorowski - On the draft radar out of high school, still considered a draft prospect. He's probably walking too many guys to get drafted really high, but we don't know what kind of offer he's looking for so I'd still consider him to have some draft risk.
Adrian Siravo - Big bodied JUCO guy that throws multiple pitches for strikes and has good velo. Came onto the scene last summer with a strong showing in the Cape Cod league. The numbers from then, and the numbers from this JUCO season are good, but never seem to match the scouting reports. He's got innings eater potential. I think there is some development meat left on the bone that could push him to LSU to prove himself further.
Kaleb Applebey - JUCO freshman that was recruited off of stuff and not performance, as he had not yet pitched outside of some fall scrimmages at Wabash Valley. Big time stuff, but has only thrown 3.1 innings this spring and has walked about 4 guys per inning. His lack of control has pushed him off the draft radar barring a late season resurgence. But given that he hasn't thrown since late February, I'm wondering if there is an injury we haven't heard about yet.
Of the JUCO RHPs, I could see us getting anywhere from 1 of them to all 3 of them.
Micah Bucknam - Canadian prospect that has already passed up signing with the Blue Jays after being drafted last year. He decided to use his uniquely Canadian grade 13 year and flipped his commitment from Washington to LSU. I haven't found any 2022 numbers on him. He's expected to pitch in the MLB Draft League this summer.
Jaden Noot - Likely the second biggest draft prospect in the RHP class. Considerable draft risk. There are some delivery and projectability concerns that may push him to school. Rated an average of 112 across 5 publications.
Chase Shores - Biggest draft risk in the RHP class. Continues to raise his profile. His average ranking is 70.8 across 5 publications. He's a big, hard throwing Texan and is on everyone's radar for the draft. I'd say we have a small chance to get him to campus.
Aiden Moffett - Mississippi righty with a rising draft profile. His velo keeps ticking up and he had a good showing at the Super 60 event PBR puts on. Only Prospects Live has him ranked, at 249. I feel pretty good about his chances of getting to campus. He's a big bodied kid that could project as a starter.
I think we get 2 or 3 of the HS RHPs.
Even if we get 6 out of 7, I don't think we're done recruiting this position group for next year. You can never have enough good pitching. The type of HS guys that could be on the radar are late pop up types that may be currently committed to JUCOs. We are also still looking at JUCO RHPs and will certainly be looking in the portal as well. We kind of already are.

You think we get 2/3 high school RHPs so you think we actually get Jaden? I think that would be a huge get.
Really appreciate your posts on these!

2 out of 4. I don't think we get all three of Shores, Bucknam, and Noot. I think we get 1 of three, possibly 2.

2 or 3. They have 4 of them. So he is basically saying he thinks we have a shot at 1 of Shores/Noot and he thinks the other 2 get to campus. I agree with that assessment. Don't see a scenario where we get both of them.

You hear anything about any Brother Martin baseball players transferring to a school in Texas for NIL reasons?
ETA: Nevermind, it was a basketball player.

Skillman. He's a good player. Catholic League was kinda meh but he was one of the best. Basketball talent in LA has been kinda meh.

BM-Holy Cross game 2 tonight (BM coasted in game 1), then BM-Rummel starts tomorrow. Rummel-Curtis game 2 tonight (Curtis won a tight game 1), then Curtis-Jesuit starts on Saturday.

Ethan Frey homer number 7 on the season. Opposite field.
kid is a monster. was pretty much home run derby for their team last night from what i heard. for a small school that team is absolutely loaded.

Former RHP commit Wyatt Wiatrek committed to McLennan CC in Waco, TX. Really good JUCO program that routinely has guys bouncing back from D1 schools and committing to D1 schools. They send a decent amount of guys to the pros as well.
I work with a family member of his. That Sinton HS team is stacked and got knocked out by a stout Rusk HS team in the playoffs last year.
I may make an attempt to see them if they play in the area in the postseason.

Ethan Frey with 3 homers in his high school game tonight. Gives him 10 on the season.

Coach J needs to start taking up donations to get Romero to campus. I don’t care what it takes.

Sulphur beat Sam Houston tonight 2-1 behind another brilliant performance by Jake brown. 11k in 6+ innings

Let’s get the ball rolling on NIL money for Romero to campus. Whatever it takes

I dunno if gavin guidry will make it to campus but man i sure hope he does. I have never been more impressed by a young mans leadership and baseball iq. he hasnt been playing, im sure something minor and saving him for playoff run, yet he is the one charting pitches, tell the batters the trends, any little subtle things he picks up. Out there picking up his teammates, talking to coaches about what he is seeing etc.
JC, the junior lefty, is extremely impressive too from a leadership standpoint, but never seen anything like what i saw from guidry, atleast at the HS level.
he also is always going above and beyond to sign autographs for kids, has learned a bunch of their names and overall just seems like a great kid. Pretty much all of them on Barbes team this year seem that away.
anyways enough gushing, overall besides Gavin and JC, i was really impressed with the freshman catcher that is committed to A&M and the soph(2024) RHP Landon Victorian. He threw a no hitter against Lafayette and was just dominant. Was told the fast ball was in the 93 range throughout. I believe he is uncommitted and one to watch for sure.
The freshman catcher looked awesome behind the plate and he crushed the ball at the plate. 100% see why he is so well thought of.
overall as a team....its crazy the talent at barbe right now and I dont see it slowing for either them or Sam Houston. St Louis isnt a slouch either. Sulphur will remain up and down for a while i beleive. This year though...they are pretty loaded, looking to be the same next year.

Went and watched Barbe vs New Iberia yesterday for senior night. Really impressive group with 5 of the 6 getting offers to go play and all but 1 had a 3.5 or above and the one that didnt still had a 3.2. Awesome to see a program demanding excellence on the field and in the classroom.
Guidry played 2nd last night and played well. He did have 1 error on a ball that took a terrible hop. At the plate he was nothing short of spectacular. Singled in the 1st, 3 run home run in the 3rd i believe and then walked it off with a single in the 5th to finish the run rule.
JC pitched and threw a no hitter but he did hit 3 or 4 batters, including 1st 2 of the game. overall settled down and pitched damn good after that.
The soph LSU Commit Owen Galt played SS and played well.
game was close tied 0-0 going into bottom of 3 when barbe broke it open with 5 runs. finished 10-0 after 5.
Crazy the amount of talent on that team. the Freshman catcher is committed to A&M and the back up and Dh is going to Southern(also has a 4.0) to play.
Dunno if guidry will make it to campus or not as there was a shite load of scouts there last night to see him, but i will say you cant help but be impressed with his leadership, play on the field and the way he treats the kids that come up to him, overall from what I have seen...he will be successful no matter where he goes or does. Kid has something like a 3.7 or 3.8 too.

Outside of Glen’s kids, barbe has had a decent track record on sending kids to school, dating back to the late 90’s. I think Guidry’s physical stature could cause him to slide a little further then he’d like. Hope he can get to campus
