What a turn of events. I wonder if we locked in on Skenes after realizing he was moving up boards? Weird that he committed days before the draft.

Seemed like that was probably his plan the whole time. I think he visited Baton Rouge then last week he was in Knoxville. Apparently he liked something over there. Figured he would commit somewhere to make MLB teams think a little more about when they will draft him and what kind of money.
Hard to believe he picked them being they have Burns/Dollander/Beam

Came to BR after Knoxville. Hearing 2 different things as whether he will sign in the draft or not

Have you heard the number he is looking to get?

Most likely a leverage play. He’s okay with going to UT if he doesn’t get his number but that will make teams want him more possibly moving himself up the boards and his slotted money

Ken doll just tweeted that there is basically a slim to none chance crawford gets to campus….as most of us would expect

I would imagine he will get an offer over 2 mil without much of an issue. Same reason Snelling will get the same type of offer. LHP throwing 95+ is all you need.

although not a senior, I want Thompson back too. Just because you can flip almost an entire roster in one off-season doesn't mean it's the best thing to do. For as much time as we think about 2023 LSU baseball, Jay walks, talks, and breathes it. These who-to-pursue decisions he makes are deliberate, and deeper than even we can debate here.

Well Thompson isn't in the portal so it is safe to say Thompson will be back.

Snelling should listen to his parents who want him to go to school!

Skenes finished his outing.
4IP
2H
4K/1BB
Wasn't the sharpest. Had slight control issues at times but nothing major. Mostly overpowered guys with his fastball. Couldn't really find the slider it seemed. He was staying around 94-96.

Antoine Duplantis is last one I remember here (2019). He was always a good hitter but his power exploded his last season, slugged over .500 hitting 12 home runs. Previously was a .400-.450 slugger with 2-ish HRs a season.

That's pre-Wes Johnson. Just wait.

Oh i have no problem with who he brought in. Pineda is a senior. Tommy white is tommy white. And carter is a 4th year guy. He brought in experienced guys

The nice thing is that we can fill out an entire lineup with returning players (all 3rd+ year guys except Pearson) so any freshmen (or previous non-starters) will have to earn it-- not just be given anything. That's how you want it setup every year in college baseball.
Crews
White
Morgan
Pearson
Dugas
Pineda
Young
Thompson
Milazzo
+ Jobert, Beloso, Stevenson, Travinski, Simon
Very good spot to be in before counting any freshmen.

Just listened to Wes Johnson's interview from yesterday evening with Mahtook. He was in the Minneapolis airport "seeing a recruit that has a pretty good chance to get drafted and trying to get him to be a Tiger." Putting the pieces together, that was likely Tebrake. He is from Cold Springs which is one hour outside of Minneapolis.

Yeah, thats likely who he was seeing. Hard to imagine he can change the kids mind. If he gets his number, he will probably go. Unfortunately we just have to root against that

Crews and Morgan both with 1/3 days. Both with an RBI and a Run scored. Team USA mercy ruled Team Netherlands 10-0.
As you mentioned, Skenes with a 4IP, 0R, 2H, 4K, 1BB performance
