It’s Romero. He wasn’t giving away a secret lol

Just confirmed and I thought I’d share the info since it’s a recruiting thread

One guy said Romero will be close so I thought I’d share that info that’s all

I’ll try to be more creative and hopefully you’ll believe me next time bc it’s really important to me that you do.

You give me Guidry, Kling, Neal, And Jones to go along with Paul, Frey, and Ruddell. Woof that would be a steal to keep those first 4 enrolled.

Thanks man. I asked a couple questions bc I thought why not and he chatted with me about those issues while we waited to board the plane

That was it. It wasn’t a big deal or anything that was top secret. Just confirming some of what we speculate daily here so I thought I’d share

Thanks for not being an a-hole.

I was bummed about Romero but not surprised

Not really surprised. Was hoping he would but being from New York with a chance at a team possibly paying you big money in the draft, why go through that trouble until you know that no team will meet your number.

I thought there was a small chance but no longer feel that. He’s popping up in 2 round mock drafts. Guys putting out these must feel he is very signable.

1.5-2.5 about. Could get up to 3. All depends what team picks them and what kind of money they have to spend on other players.

Just went back and look at last year signing bonus. The first pick in the 2nd round got 2.8mil. Last pick in the 2nd got 880K. Last pick was likely a senior they were able to low ball and save money for someone else.

I asked before, but do we have a list of teams we hope drafts our players? Besides the usual cheapskates, any Dodgers/Frank McCourt issues floating out there?

Project may be able to answer that better than I can. I honestly haven’t looked that far into it yet. They have a list of bonus pool money teams have somewhere but I don’t remember the exact teams that had the higher pools.

Thanks Jwho. That is what I was referring to in my post.

I just hope we can luck out with a few surprises the way the draft may fall. Stranger things have happened with the MLB Draft in the past.

I'm thinking Toman, Crawford, Snelling, Romero and Misiorowski as the five that are gone. Maybe Shores would be the "probably gone".

The five we have a chance with Noot, Guidry, Neal, Jones and Kennedy.

How many out of those five will be the question. The draft can't get here soon enough.

As a fan, I could handle that. IMO if we can get Kennedy and Herring that would be awesome. Noot or Shores would be special. I'm just referring to pitching.

If I had to guess I would put them in tiers like this.

Tier 1 (Gone): Crawford, Toman, Romero, Snelling, Misiorowski

Tier 2: Shores, Noot, Neal, Jones, Guidry, Kennedy
- I think 1 of Noot/Shores could make it to campus, but not likely both of them. I still think Neal and Jones may get drafted, but it is a good sign they are both on campus already. It seems Guidry and Kennedy both want to play at LSU and likely both have a high number for a signing bonus.

Tier 3: Herring, Moffett, Kling, Bucknam, Pineda, Young, Tebrake
- Feel like Kling and Herring both plan to play at LSU unless a surprising amount of money gets unexpectedly thrown their way. Moffett is the outlier here that has picked up a little draft buzz recently because of the power arm, but him being on campus already is a good thing and I think he stays on campus. Bucknam is someone I don't really know much of what his plan is in the draft. It seems as though he would like to get drafted since he used his extra year of high school eligibility that is offered in canada. He is also playing in the MLB draft league right now and his numbers are really good. I have him in this tier but he could very well be with the tier above as he may be one that will sign in the draft. As far as the transfer guys, I think Pineda and Young both make it to LSU. Tebrake will be depending on how low his number is for himself. If he gets offered anything more than $400K, I think he may take it by the way he has talked in interviews.
