Leto is in the portal now according to that list. No others from our end.
Obviously it didn’t work out but wasn’t he ranked #1 in his entire class at one point? I think it was early in his high school career but I swear I think I remember that being the case.

Going into sophomore year of HS or something like that.

Didn't he basically just outgrow the middle infield?

It's not that he outgrew it, it's that he's stiff and doesn't have great hands.
He looked like he had all the tools early on if he kept developing, but he didn't keep developing.

His 50% K rate in the north woods league probably didn’t do him any favors
Brennan Holt hitting .167 (6 for 36 with 14 K) on the same team
Blaine Priester is hitting .219 but does have 5 doubles and 6 home runs in just 64 AB...with 36 K's

Just a reminder on portal semantics:
July 1 was the portal deadline for immediate eligibility without needing a waiver.
People can still transfer, especially guys with JUCO eligibility remaining. And they can go D1 to D1 with a waiver or to sit a year. We don't know what the waiver process will look like right now. I think it will depend on how much they want to build up the July 1 deadline.
Guys can also go down a level to D2, D3, or NAIA without having to sit even if they leave beyond this deadline.

One thing that may make a waiver a real possibility is coaching changes. Maybe after the draft we still need an infielder and particular school out in Arizona had a coaching change too late for their players to get in the portal on time. Hmmmmm.

So with Leto in the portal, 6 players are in the portal with no destination announced. Assuming all those are leaving, that puts the roster at 29 guys. Also, we know Berry and Doughty won't be back and I will assume that at least 2 of Dugas, Jobert, Gervase, Reyzelman won't be back. That puts the roster at 25. Add the 6 transfer portal guys coming in and just for the hell of it lets say 1 signs in the draft to put the roster at 30. Then we have 23 incoming high school/juco recruits. I'll predict we get about 13 or 14 of those on campus. So that would have the roster around 43-44.

Not very good at math, I see.

Fixed it. You could have at least corrected me if you going to make a smartass comment on it.

Seems like snelling and doughty dropped a bit

I'd like to see Crawford drop some to the mid-50s. Snelling dropping won't change much though
Posted on 7/5/22 at 10:59 am to josh336
Not sure why, but I noticed that the prospect live rankings/mocks have always had Snelling much lower than MLB.com rankings/mock drafts. I've seen Snelling as high as 13 on some MLB.com mock drafts.

Bay do you think Wes Johnson has Hasty in mind as someone he can fix? or do we wish him well next year elsewhere? Some might argue that his last four outings leave him a bit unfairly remembered, but sheesh the guy showed up small in a big spot vs Southern Miss

My opinion is you let him walk if he wants to. If he wants to stay then he doesn't have a roster spot promised. He will have to win a spot through the fall. I feel like some of the LH arms coming in are going to be able to step in to take his role. He pitched really well in certain spots this season but I think that was an exception more than the norm for him. He has had control issues his whole career and his last 2 outings of the season those control issues showed back up again.

Reggie Crawford has apparently started to move back up draft boards after meeting with teams. He's got ++ make up apparently. Like Austin Nola levels.
Posted on 7/5/22 at 11:29 am to ProjectP2294
He’s throwing for them?
Posted on 7/5/22 at 11:29 am to ProjectP2294
Guess he was flirting with us as a backup plan. But it never really made sense. Seems like a guy guaranteed to go in the first couple rounds
Posted on 7/5/22 at 11:30 am to ProjectP2294
Im guessing aaron nola levels
