I like Josh Day a lot but I'm ok with Young too. I have this weird feeling that Jay will get Young right at the plate.

Thompson - JR
Leto - SO
Simon - RS Fr
White - SO
Pineda - Covid SR
Guidry- incoming FR DES
Romero- incoming FR
Day? - Covid SR
Young? - Covid JR
It’s getting crowded….there are only 3 spots in the infield for all these guys. Something has to give. These guys aren’t coming for a shot at playing at LSU. They have to be coming knowing they are going to play…way too much on the line.

Holt is transferring to Oklahoma State. Still waiting on the new update on D1 to see if any new LSU players hit the portal, but Leto hasn't at this point.

SS/2B/3B - some combo of Pineda, Thompson, Young
White -DH/1B
The rest will compete for spots if they even make it to campus or stay with the team. Best players will play. There’s nothing to be nervous about.
There is at least 1 open OF spot, too.

If White is at 1st then Morgan has to be in the outfield.
would look for some more going into the portal soon (tomorrow). I would think Thompson has to be considering it.
Romero and Thompson are pretty close. I would think they are talking too. If there was a chance for Romero (and there was), it’s quickly fading. Guidry also has to be considering his options. Didn’t include Toman earlier because there is 0% chance with him.
I would also think next years recruits are paying attention too!

Update on Skenes via the MS State 247 staffer
Decision won't be for awhile. He is planning to visit Arkansas after Team USA play concludes in mid July and then will decide from there. He's already been to Tennessee, State, and LSU. So sounds like we have a final 4.

I listened to a Mississippi State podcast earlier today to get their perspective on what's going on with the baseball portal. They weren't pleased. And they're essentially hinging their opinion of whether State is doing enough in the portal on whether they get Skenes or not.

You should see their baseball board...It's been the same sentiment. Most of it has been talk of "look what LSU is doing, why can't we do that" lol
