in other news, PG released their updated 2024 class rankings

gonna be hard to pull Landon Victorian from Barbe with these kinds of rankings. Kid is a stud and really hope we see him in purple and gold. His last outing against St Amant is only time i have ever seen him hit like that, they hit 2 bombs off of him and kind of had him shook, but the kid is a stud and is going to be a monster by the time he is a senior.

Thanks for all the good information. Seems sketchy as to why they fired him then.. maybe something behind the scenes. Because that sounds damn good.

And don’t get me wrong, I know Texas has been bringing in the talent.

Apologies if this has already been posted. I knew it was looking good, but I didn't know he had been this definitive about it.

Kling still intends to honor LSU scholarship
quote:

UNIVERSITY PARK — Central senior Paxton Kling may hear his name during the early rounds of the Major League Baseball draft this July, but when asked following the Scarlet Dragons’ 13-2 victory over Lancaster Catholic in the PIAA Class 3A championship on Friday, he had a quick response to whether he would consider skipping college and turn professional.

“I’m going to LSU,” Kling said. “I’m excited to get down there and play for Coach (Jay) Johnson and the rest of the coaching staff down there. I can’t wait to see what Baton Rouge has in store for me.”

Kling was named the 2021-2022 Gatorade Pennsylvania Baseball Player of the Year earlier this month and is ranked as Pennsylvania’s top high school player according to Perfect Game and is the nation’s No. 7 prospect in the class of 2022 according to Prep Baseball Report.

If that is the list, I would go ahead and book hotels in Omaha for next year.

My guess is Carter Young, and a coach.

One of the coaching spots should be filled pretty quickly

So...IF we get Carter Young.... is Thompson benched??
Id assume he'd transfer out.... bc Pineda and Young arent coming to sit...and our 2 year starter isnt gonna want to either

Thompson would have to compete for a spot, maybe 3B if Tanks kicks it a lot, maybe 2B if Young can’t hit, maybe works into the OF. Pineda is only here for a year, too…thinks might loosen up for next year.

But, yes, I think Thompson would have to consider moving on.

IIRC, Carter Young can play OF as well.

I still want Hurd to drop. That’s the game changer. Him and Tebrake would be one hell of a one-two punch.

Thompson to OF is an option if he does not get in his feels & bolt

I don’t know why people are just automatically writing off Thompson. He’s a good player.

agreed. Shortstops are typically the best athlete on the field (ours would be Crews) but I would assume a transition to the OF would be a good idea.

I agree, Thatcher Hurd is a game changer and the potential Friday night starter IMO!

He is decent but very unreliable in the field right now
