Could be the future Friday night ace that we'll be able to keep for a few years.

I've been telling people - it's amazing what LSU can achieve when the coach is hungry and looking to improve the lineup. The free transfer happened at the best time, too. We will for sure improve next season. Can't wait to be there.

Just to clarify, the ties to LSU are tenuous. And the Giants can offer a little over 1.5MM. So it's a long shot. Same with Micah Bucknam, a Washington commit drafted by the Blue Jays.

There are so many moving parts on these guys.

I just thought the Silva stuff was interesting from what I could piece together. When there are a lot of guys pulling their name out of the draft, like UCLA had, it means scholarship money starts to tighten up and they may not have room for a guy they weren't expecting to keep. I just think our hat is in the ring on the very low chance he doesn't sign with the Giants.

Since he is gone
Is Silva the last pitcher we go after and swing the fences for in this class

He actually know anything usually? I’m not familiar.

He's hit or miss. He has hit on some inside information before, so it is apparent he has some sources; but he has swung and missed too. I would say by that tweet he is hearing something, just a question of how valid or likely that something is.

If by terrible you mean obnoxious, then I completely agree with you. I've attempted to listen to some of his shows and can't ever get through them with his speech pattern and wild rants at times.

Still not willing to say something is definitely happening with Silva, but Johnson just started following him on Twitter.

I'd love to have him. He's electric like Reyzelman. Keep adding blazing guns. It's my dream to have a pitching staff stockpiled with power.

Not that it means much, but played against a team with blaise priester catching tonight. He was a funny guy. Its a small sample size, but his Arm is legit. Will have to work on accuracy throwing to 2nd. Also he looks like he will fill out to be a great hitter. May have been because he was facing 70mph stuff, but he hit a couple groundballs that got through for basehits and a fly out to right field. Didnt show much pop, but it was just 3 at bats. May face his team again throughout the weekend. So we’ll see.

If we much prefer Silva and if there is reciprocated interest, then maybe we are honing in on Silva thus allowing Washburn to expand his reach, so Washburn takes the Ole Miss offer. Who knows? Just having fun with the transitive property

D1Baseball ran a story today on Harwich team in the Cape, and singled out Reyzleman as a "breakout star".

The evaluation appears to be on point. If the development and recruiting are there to match, then we have a good coach on our hands!

They still have to show it in the SEC, but I totally agree. Reyzelman played 1 year of high school ball and just a few games of college and we projected him, what seems to be, great. Shaffer had a rough go but I've heard that he absolutely has it, so that's another seemingly reach that could reap giant rewards. Collins is seemingly a project, but could also greatly benefit the staff if he's healthy bc his stuff is really good. Cooper is a much needed lefty, also projected him well. McManus adds depth, at worst, and projects as another bat in the lineup. It's been impressive how precise things have gone in the portal.

Exactly! I'm encouraged by how active the staff has been, and by the fact that even a few of us die hards are still talking baseball in August. Hopefully we win and the Box can go back to rocking again this year.

When all is said and done and this roster is complete if the BOX isn't packed for this team on opening day I'd be shocked.

The SEC is always tough. You need the ball to bounce your way when you play talented, well coached, and prideful teams every weekend. But, I like the sense of urgency to put a team on the field that opponents fear. The big ticket was Berry, but these other pieces could be huge. I want a pitching staff that runs out gas all week and weekend long, and a lineup that's looking to score 20 every game.

I didn’t think I would be sweating the signing day deadline this year, but I’m really interested in the possibility of getting a 4th round pick that was signed with another school to campus.

Jud Fabian is returning to Florida.
