It's been a while but any talk about pitcher Jack Washburn?

Sounds like he had rehab setbacks that were then made worse by the shut down.

Looks like he was in their plans from day 1 as a true freshman, probably a low risk high reward situation.

Bryce Collins: A long road to recovery

Bryce Collins, right-handed pitcher for the Arizona Wildcats, is midway through his junior year and has yet to see a full season on the mound. During Collins’ freshman year, he blew out his right arm and needed surgery to repair several torn ligaments. With the pandemic putting a hold on sports in general, it has not been easy for Collins, who is anxious to get back on the field, yet in very good spirits about the rehab process.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the athletes at the University of Arizona are unable to use athletic facilities, meaning players like Collins have to adapt. Although he is unable to use the facilities directly, Collins says this has not stopped him from working on rehab every day in other ways.

Herring
Toman
Moffett
quote:
Aiden Moffett (2022 RHP, Mount Olive, MS): Moffett pounded the zone in his time on the mound, working 88-92 mph with good heavy action on the pitch, landing a deep vertical curveball with bite and spin for strikes.
quote:
Griffin Herring (2022 LHP, Southlake, TX): Herring has lots of projection remaining on his frame and worked 87-90 with his fastball, generating good angle and showing the ability to miss bats with both his slider and changeup.
quote:
Jace Laviolette (2022 Katy, TX) has a big and athletic frame with was hand speed. His flat path produced extremely hard line drives during his round.
quote:
Tucker Toman (2022 Columbia, SC) annihilated a few baseballs that got to the bleachers in rightfield. A switch-hitter, there is plenty of upside in the right-handed swing that is geared for line drives right now.

Also, Herring had six Ks in his two innings he pitched
I know he's not a commit, but here's one of Justin Crawford:

Robby Snelling
On a side note, browsing down that Twitter page, Miami has some exciting commits in their class as well

We need a true CF next class.

I think Crawford could be that guy

Yeah Stevenson is the only one currently known to be here in 2023. Kling is probably athletic enough to do it but he’ll be a draft risk.

Troy Claunch is another portal name we’re on. Catcher from Oregon State

This 2022 roster is going to have more newcomers/transfers than holdovers

Still hoping Johnson can work his magic with Priester though than Claunch, but I like he's keeping his options open

Priester would be a better pickup in the long run but Claunch would fill the immediate need and be the starter next season. He was an all conference player.

Jesus, I can't remember the last time I was this juiced about my Tiger baseball team. It's crazy but I'm not even thinking about football right now. This staff will be insanely good.

I hope that meeting with Priester went well!

Priester just committed to us a min ago

I will update the thread later, maybe Monday even.

Someone tell me about Priester. I read his perfect game profile but is he an immediate impact type player or is someone you take your time with and he breaks out as a sophomore or Junior?
Posted on 7/17/21 at 4:06 pm to CottonWasKing
People are going to expect immediate impact based on his rating and draft profile. But it’s extremely difficult for catchers to excel right away. He’s local though so he can start working with Kelly and whoever is coaching catchers right away.
They could put him on that BR Rougaroo team too if they want to start him getting higher level ABs.

Yeah right now you would think the roster is Milazzo, McManus, Priester, and Travinski. Milazzo and McManus likely getting the bulk of duties on an offense/defense basis, while Priester gets spot duty and develops, and Travinski takes an injury year.
Then in 23 it’s Priester and Travinski without the freshmen having to rush.

I wish Travinski would take the Matt Gaudet route and leave the team for a year while he rehabs, then come back and hit .280 with 19 home runs

And have part of a finger bit off? That's not fair to Travinski

Millas has now taken references to LSU off his Twitter. He hasn't announced a transfer destination, to my knowledge, but his twitter now says Country Roads Baseball, so maybe West Virginia?
Per d1 baseball, Millais is going to West Virginia
