Wow. We need to get a coach hired so we can get with it.

Selvedge has apparently looked very good at the combine cruising at 92-94 and throwing strikes. Definitely one to watch

Getting to the point where I want them to make a decision either way.
LSU is going to need to land some experienced JUCO arms maybe even some transfers if they come up.

All three committed JUCO pitchers come in with three years of college experience. Bollman and Gervase I think come in as Sophomores. Gause may come in as a freshman.
All these eligibility waivers are really messing with me.
Gervase is primarily a reliever from what I've seen.

Do you think any are starter material? I don't to be honest but we'll see.

I don't know. Gause was more consistent as a starter in a more difficult league. I feel like he could be a weekend guy.
We don't have an ace unless Floyd makes a jump with his secondary pitches or someone like Selvidge or Lansville makes it to campus and pans out.

I agree. Assuming Marceaux, Hill, Labas, Hilliard are all gone.
Coleman is a weekend starter without a doubt.
Floyd has the velocity but needs another pitch or he's useless anything over one inning.
Money has so much potential and with another pitching coach and he'll thrive.
Hellmers may become an average to above average Sunday guy.
Kudrna will sign.
Selvidge is an immediate plug into the weekend rotation type player. He's the most important recruit right now.
Lansville and both Taylor are big bodied guys with velocity that I really like...will they make immediate impacts in the rotation? Probably not but would be options.
Some great talent but absolutely no experience. Whoever comes in the number one goal should be to get a plug and play Friday night guy to allow the others to pitch a more comfortable Saturday and Sunday.

Agreed on about everything. Lansville is particularly intriguing to me. He hides the ball well and can spin the hell out of it.

Griffin Doersching from NKU just entered the transfer portal .314 avg 12 doubles and 20 homers this year. Might be a nice DH option for next year.
This guy is transferring to Oklahoma State.

Project, when is the deadline for HS & JUCO commits to be on campus?
Just trying to see what kind of timeframe the new coach will be working with to get his guys in.

I don't know what the draft signing deadline is this year since the draft itself got pushed back.
I would assume the deadline to be on campus would be the enrollment deadline for the fall though.
I apologize, I don't really have a great answer for you.

I saw August 1 mentioned last Fall when the decision was made to move the draft to July, but I haven’t been able to locate it in the typical places yet nor in recent articles.

He’s not going to be available very long.
He’ll be committing to Tennessee soon, I would guess.

One of the top uncommitted JUCO pitchers is Ronan Kopp from South Mountain in Arizona. Maybe we make a run at him now.

Surely he’s going to be picked pretty high right? Apparently is tearing up the draft league. I just saw a note about a stretch of 17 swings at his FB and 14 were misses.

I’m hoping the teams that shite on the draft league saying at best day 3 only talent stuck to their guns about not scouting it.

I wonder if they’re going to be lenient with LOI releases in the wake of coaching changes with the transfer portal being such a big thing anyway. Looks like he has several catchers in his Arizona class.

Project any Arizona players in the portal that could follow Johnson? Or not really a thing that happens?
Thanks for everything y’all do here I’d be totally lost when Fall baseball starts if I don’t follow these threads

I think it depends on whether or not Yeskie stays at Arizona. If they overhaul the staff there, I'm sure we see some movement. The roster has some really good young players on it that I would love to see in purple and gold. I don't know much about their recruiting class.
