2b from Lsu e is a commit? Was told this by a parent who has a kid on the team.

Supposedly we have 2 commits from LSUE, one poster keeps mentioning them but won't actually give their names. This helps though, thank you.
ETA: I'm assuming it's Jack Merrifield. He's played the most 2B for them from what I can tell but he's also one of only a handful of guys on their team that Nolan Cain follows on twitter.
Peyton Lejeune is another one I've been tracking as well.
Merrifield seemed to be a candidate to transfer to LSUE for a while now.

I believe Merrifield played for Dutchtown in high school
The lefthander Andrishock is a good one too, doubt LSU will have room for him though
LSU is going to hit jucos hard this year as they stand to lose a bunch of this year's class even in a 20 round draft from the high school ranks
Good thing is LSU has a strong core of fr and soph position players right now and the young fr arms look strong on the current team as well

Can't wait for Jack to suit up for the purple and gold. He is going to be a good one that will no doubt be a fan favorite.

I'm still waiting for some sort of more formal announcement that he (or anyone) is committed before adding him to the list.

Jack plays the game the right way. Hard worker. Always grinding to get better. Leaves it all on the field. He'll definitely be a fan favorite.

Cole Henry brother headed to the U to play baseball
He’s a pitcher too
No idea how highly rated he is

Jack is a plus hitter who can play MANY positions well. HUGE addition to any roster.
LSUE is loaded, very deep and talented roster that will see many of them move on to play in top D1 programs. Several guys hitting around 0.400, speed, power, several quality arms, well coached.

And plays a very weak schedule

Can anyone actually confirm that he’s at least one of the commits from LSUE?
Posted on 3/10/21 at 9:53 am to ProjectP2294
The only thing I can confirm is that Jack hits the ball really hard just about every at bat, also has a high OBP, so it makes him a really tough out to get! Also can play just about anywhere in the field!

Can he beat out a starter at LSU right now?

I have not seen enough of LSU to answer that. I am not sure that is the right question to ask.
Would he be an asset to their roster? No question! I've seen the guy play 3B, 2B, and 1B equally well. Can play corner outfield too. His versatility could help them NOW in a number of roles, utility, etc.

What's best resource to look at state rankings? I found a few via search, but they were subscription services. I'm working a pretty stacked tournament this weekend and curious if any LSU or other top-tier prospects will be there.

Perfect game will let you see commitments and team rosters, but not rankings. So you’ll be able to see which guys are already committed but you won’t be able to see how highly ranked any uncommitted guys are.

IMHO, baseball rankings are not very good at the local level beyond the top 10 or so. Lists of the top 100 in a state such as Louisiana are garbage.

Jason Bollman is expected to pitch in the MLB Draft League this summer. I wouldn't read too much into that regarding his likelihood of showing up on campus. The league is filled with a ton of JUCO guys so far.
Posted on 3/15/21 at 8:21 am to ProjectP2294
Have you seen anything about roster sizes for that league? I think they’re supposed to play a ton of games so I assume they’re going to carry more than the usual.
Posted on 3/15/21 at 8:33 am to MOT
I think I read 30, but that could have been something else. I thought they said something about 180 players on 6 teams or something.
Here is the list of confirmed players so far: LINK
Prep Baseball Report is helping run the league and is doing the scouting for filling the rosters. David Seifert is their main scout that I believe is leading up all of that and he's based out of central Illinois. That's why so far there are a lot of midwest guys. But he's also a former JUCO coach and has a ton of connections there, which is why there are a ton of JUCO guys invited so far.
ETA: On that list we have one signee (Bollman) and one guy we're looking at (Owen Holt - Alvin CC).

Owen Holt, the pitcher from Alvin CC we were looking at, committed to TCU today.
