I see lots of long hair, beards and mustaches in those pics on lsusports.net. Is coach relaxing his policy or letting them loose for fall ball only?
The policy was relaxed for the fall, no word on what will happen for spring.
Also, Nick Storz isn't on the roster now. Like Milligan, no official word on anything.

Storz is not a surprise to me. It was a head scratcher when he said he was playing football. He obviously has talent as a pitcher but he needed to work on his craft this fall and he didn't, so I wasn't optimistic he could go back to baseball this spring and contribute much.

Tomorrow is opening day for JUCO baseball. Not every school starts on opening day each year. We have 3 JUCO commits.
Dawson Gause - St John's River in Florida - They kick off the season with a double header tomorrow and I expect that Gause will get one of the starts.
Jason Bollman - Wabash Valley in Illinois - They don't start playing games against outside competition until February 12th.
Brayden Jobert - Delgado in New Orleans - They don't start their season until February 18th.

CWS changes format slightly
Beginning in 2022, the championship series will begin on Sat with Game 2 on Sun and potential Game 3 if necessary on Monday of second week of CWS
Better have some pitching depth without those rest days.

Jordan Thompson and Brody Drost are scheduled to play for Wisconsin Rapids in the Northwoods League this summer.

Due to inclement weather, this double header was pushed to tomorrow. Hopefully I will have some stats to add to this thread on Monday.

St John's River's opening double header was pushed to yesterday, instead of Saturday. Dawson Gause got the start in game one.
3.0 IP, 2 H, 4 K, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB
His season is off to a good start. I don't know how good East Georgia State is, but more strikeouts than innings pitched and no walks is always a good sign.

Project,
Who do you like as LSU's DH this year ...

Probably some combination of Dugas, Travinski, or even someone like Cade Doughty if they make an effort to shore up the defense with someone like Thompson at 2nd.

Sanford, Dugas or Arnold maybe

Dawson Gause is pitching right now for SJR, in case anyone wants to follow on game changer.

It looks like we're still looking to add to the incoming class. We're evaluating more JUCO guys, both pitchers and position players. A D1 bounceback at a JUCO in texas that was touching mid 90s in his first start. And a D2 bounceback in Florida that was drafted out of HS and can play either corner infield spot.

LSU well represented with their 2021 recruiting class.
Simon, Moller, Selvidge, Leto, and Pearson all on the list.

Has anyone seen this kid out of Gulf Shores, Alabama?
Mattox Johnson - LHP/1B
Gulf Shores HS (Gulf Shores, AL)
Ht/Wt: 6'1" 197
B/T: L/L
He hit one in a scrimmage game the other day and hit the right wall at 320 feet. Also, his trainer is Alshia Tolbert. From what I gathered, she use to be the trainer at LSU.
Edit 1: He is a 2022 grad.

Hey Project, how would you rate the Florida Gulf Coast summer baseball league? Is it top 10?
Posted on 2/10/21 at 8:09 am to Bando
I'm not really all that familiar with it. I've heard of it before, but I don't think it's normally a high level league. Looking through last year's rosters it looks like they pulled in some decent players, at least on some teams. Even if a league wasn't normally a big time league, last year was so weird that guys just played wherever they could.
You did help me find that AJ Labas pitched in that league, I didn't know we sent out any pitchers. I appreciate you pointing me to this.
ETA: As I keep looking through rosters, I keep seeing SEC names. It's hard to get aggregated stats because it's on gamechanger and a lot of the stats are set to private for some reason. But this league looks like it was pretty good last season.

Yep. Tom Glavine's son, Peyton, played on Labas' team last summer.

Someone on the MSB mentioned that we have two guys from LSUE committed but I haven’t seen that anywhere. If anyone has any info please share so I can update the list.
