Rece Hinds and Hayden Travinski are participating in the all star game home run derby right now on MLB.com. this is the hr derby nick storz won a couple years ago in San diego.

Rece Hinds and Bobby Witt Jr. made the finals. Yeah, I doubt hinds ever plays inside the box.

Hinds got to meet Shaq on the field in DC. Hopefully they talked about LSU a bit.

Travinski is very intriguing. A lot of upside in a power hitting catcher. MLB scouts are going to be all over him
Granted they are probably using juiced bags for the derby

The sound coming off the bat sounds like a rifle was shot. Unless his stock calapses I wouldn’t doubt seeing an MLB team take him early in the top 2 rounds. Teams always reach for HS catchers

There has never been a big-league position player with the first name, Hayden. But Hayden Travinski, from LA, just hit 12 monster HRs in the HS HR Derby. Hit a HR to the top of the CF batter's eye, another over the stands in LCF, another to the last row of the LCF press area. Wow

I havent seen who it is yet. PG has a commit on our list from the other day, but I've seen nothing to confirm it, so I haven't put it in this thread yet. Wasn't a pitcher.

Looks like the new commit is Samuel Dutton. A pitcher from Rainbow City, AL in the 2021 class.

I don't know how but got to get this Travinski kid at LSU. He's a beast at C and can hit the frick out the ball.

It sounds like Daniel Espino impressed at the UA AA game last week. Fangraphs Eric Longenhagen said he has the best stuff out of the high school class.

Hey Project any chance Gallager could get a look, kid can fly and can bunt?
Rett Gallagher (2019, Celina, Texas). Gallagher made this scout do a double take at his stop watch when he burned down the line during an at-bat for a jail break bunt single that the infield had no chance of making the play. The switch hitter was batting from the lefthanded side and ran a 3.78-second home to first time. He later followed that up by hitting a ball up the middle and running a true home to first time of 4.08 seconds to beat out an infield single. Each time on base Gallagher stole second base as well giving a true glimpse of his elite in game speed. He is not overly physical as he stands at a listed 5-foot-10, 190-pounds and likely smaller than that. The versatile uncommitted 2019 graduate displayed the ability to catch in the game as well as play in the outfield showing how much of an athletic utility player he can be.

I haven't seen anything about him before. But I would guess he's going to be evaluated. We've got commits from that general area of Texas already, so we will probably take a look at him.
His team played against LSU commit Blake Money's team in the 16U PG World Series. I don't know if Money pitched that game though, so it's hard to tell if the staff has already seen the kid.

He just sounds like a baseball player, athletic enough to cause errors by the opposing teams. I didn't see anything regarding his hitting but sounds like he can lay a bunt down. Hope we work on improving that area of the offense this year (bunting).

The East Coast Pro showcase is going on right now with a bunch of LSU commits participating. Unfortunately for the thread, I'm a little busy with real life stuff right now so I haven't been able to read much about it.
Also, I read that Rece Hinds will be playing his senior year at IMG. He joins Ray Torres and Farmer Abendroth there.
