Hunter Kiel will return and be the grad asst coach
PM was going to go without one as no one was available.
Look for Matt Clark to get it for 2021 if he hangs up his professional career.

I saw him on the roster page but hadn't seen any official announcement. Did Paul do an interview or something today that I should look out for?

Project, I appreciate your work on this thread and your input

I know it's appreciated, but thank you. I just enjoy reading up on recruits (not just LSU's), the draft, and looking at how the draft will affect the rosters of LSU and the teams we play.
Since I'm already trying to read as much as I can, I just try to bring the recruiting stuff here. I don't know how long I'll continue with it, but for right now I enjoy it.
I just want this thread to be free of coach or player bashing. There are other places for that.

Project, I saw that you had the # at 36, is there a site or list where I can find out who exactly are the 36?

If you're referring to the current roster #'s, yeah we are at 36. The roster on LSUsports.net is up to date. The most recent drop off was Easton McMurray.

I don’t keep up with the baseball recruits. Who were the 3 over the weekend.
Posted on 9/17/19 at 9:25 pm to LSU Fireman
Jared Jones, Brennan Holt, and Ben Kudrna.
Tonight they got a huge pick up in the 2023 class in Trenton Lape from Bossier.

He committed yesterday. I just haven’t had a chance to add him to the list yet. I’ll be able to tomorrow

Director of Player Development Micah Gibbs is leaving program for a job outside of baseball. No replacement will be hired. What’s your thoughts Project?

He's still going to be working in baseball. He's going to work for a company that is currently golf focused but they are bringing him in to help translate their technology to baseball.
Mainieri said his duties will be split among the other guys on the staff but he hopes to have another full time person in that role at some point.
I think Eddie Smith is already pretty in tune with advanced analytics and tech, so I don't think this will have a big impact. Also, some of the stuff he would have been doing can be contracted out to third party companies that have popped up in the past few years.

LSU just picked up another big 2023 recruit in Brady Neal, a catcher from Tallahassee.

All these 2023 kids are freshmen in high school. All the big schools grab these kids early and you can tell that some of these 14-15-year-olds will be special....Project, what is your opinion on getting these kids to commit even before playing a high school game? I know they all play around the country for travel teams against good competition....seems so young.

I'm not a fan of it. I know there are a lot of coaches out there that don't like it either. But there are enough of them out there willing to do it that even the ones that would rather wait are forced to recruit earlier and earlier so as not to be left behind.
It's kind of dumb though, because then you see a shuffling of guys the summer before their senior year. And another smaller shuffling around draft time.

Project, Adam or Scuba any real legit shot at getting Romo or Crews to LSU.

The Holt offer must’ve came out of nowhere. He’s not a SEC caliber infielder from what I’ve seen
