Those are some big hits to take on the first day. Probably going to take a few more today as well

Vandy had several signees selected but their class is still loaded. I think they had 11 of PG’s top 100, so they’re going to come away with several high impact players just based on the numbers.

Well, they just had another one go in the 3rd - Ryder Green to the Yankees.

We're through the 3rd round, and Turang is still the only damage so far.
Not bad. Keep those fingers crossed though.

According to MLB, Watson and Hess are 2 of the top 10 available. Watson may be picked soon and Hess shortly thereafter

Below $500k in slot money now.
Not everything but it helps.

Slot is about to be under $400K in a few picks. Watson and Hess or sliding....so is Jayden Hill apparently

By my count Mississippi State just had their sixth signee taken in the first five rounds of the draft when Keaton Winn went to the Giants.
Ouch.
Ouch.

Dugas and Bianco are playing with the Danville Dans.
Does anybody have a master list of where recruits and/or active players are playing this summer?? Thanks in advance.

I usually have that, but it's been really difficult to find this year.
Beloso, Vietmeier, and Doughty - Lima Locos - Great Lakes League
Kodros - Charlottesville Tom Sox
DiGiacomo - Gaithersburg Giants, cal ripken league
That's about all I have.

Prioject: I know it’s early still, but what’s your feel on the class shaping up now that we’re near the end of the 5th round??
Any idea on who gets processed maybe due to roster size if we get more than expected?
Thanks in advance and I appreciate all the work you do posting.

I won't speculate on any processing.
But right now we're looking really good with the draft. Can't count our chickens before they hatch, but it's looking promising.

Thank you. In hindsight “processing” probably isn’t the best term to use. Not meaning to be negative. I’m glad all of them are on the team, I just know we would be over if the draft continues as such. Would be cool if there weren’t roster limits for student athletes (within reason).
I walked on in college (I wasn’t good, just fast). But I was already paid for via the GI Bill so I don’t remember how my roster slot was handled.

There's a guy on 247 that is saying Marceaux is headed to LSU, turned down a lot of money from the MLB. He had previously said a few weeks back that Marceaux was related to one of his good friends. Take it for what it's worth.

It has a ring of truth to it, because Marceaux definitely should not have gone undrafted through six rounds. The only way that happens is he didn't take the money when the call came.
Posted on 6/5/18 at 3:17 pm to macaoidh
A lot of them had offers and if they didn’t come up with the money then, I can’t imagine them having it now. Unless some seniors sign for nothing

So, Nick Bush, mid-8th, #246 is going, I assume.

Ditto for Levi Kelly at 249.
But if you start trying to project an 18-pitcher roster out of the returning players and signees it's pretty damned hard to do without SOME of these kids getting drafted.
The only concern now becomes left handed pitching. Seems like Cabrera is going to get some chances next year.
