The roster norm is 17 position players and 18 pitchers for 35 players. It’s easier to break it down into these two categories to see where we really stand with recruiting rather than an overall number.

Yeah Turang, Cabell, Marceaux, and a guy like Saul Garza came to mind.

We picked up two commits yesterday in Berwick OF Mitchell Sanford in the 2019 class and 2021 RHP Cale Lansville from Colorado.

I wonder if Duplantis would come back after being drafted in the 10th? Cabell, Hill, and Willis all being in that #109-151 range is a little nerve-racking to. But obviously that doesn't mean that's where they will be actually drafted.

1) I think that Watson and Zach Hess could have better years if they return. Any chance they come back for their Junior years? They would still have leverage as Juniors.
2) I sure hope that we can get Cabell or Willis on campus. A longshot if they are drafted in the top 5 rounds.

If someone gets drafted in the top 10 rounds they are gone, but they will only be drafted there if they basically verbally agree to a signing bonus amount. They can be a first round talent, but if they ask more than teams think they are worth they won’t get picked until the 20th round

Former Tiger Mason Templet has committed to ULL. He will join other former Tigers from STM Oneal Lochridge and Brennan Breaux there.

I see he had a really nice season at LSUE. Hit .380 and only struck out 25 times. Duplantis is the only Lafayette guy that stuck in that class

It's been harder this year than last year to find summer destinations for guys. I've found locations for the following incoming freshmen:

Cade Beloso - Lima Locos - Great Lakes League
Gavin Dugas - Danville Dans - Prospect League
Drew Bianco - Danville Dans - Prospect League
Giovanni DiGiacomo - Gaithersburg Giants - Cal Ripken League

I don't expect these to be the only recruits playing summer ball. I've only found a handful of current players and none of the incoming JUCO transfers.

You are definitely losing Bain, Coomes, Beau, if Bryce gets drafted he might leave. Reese, and Taylor Peterson and probably Moffit won't be here. Reid might transfer

Cam Sanders might leave no matter where he gets drafted

We may end up having to cut some guys loose if we get Duplantis, Hess, and Watson to come back and score with the draft. I don't think it's crazy to see that happening. Doughty is also likely losing his spot on the team.

I see no way we keep all 3 of them. Maybe one comes back, I doubt seriously that 2 come back, 3 ain't happening.

I would lose my mind from excitement if it did happen though

If I were to guess I'd lay $ on Dups returning out of the 3 mentioned. Hess should return IMO but depends on where he's drafted and does he have a $#.

I’d be happy to just get Duplantis back

Of the three, I think Hess is the one most likely to jump just to get out. Although I don't think any of them are in situations like we've seen the last few years where guys will go just because someone drafted them.

FYI, Will Ripoll's stats at Curtis this year...

10-0
0.98 ERA
71.1 IP
26 hits allowed
28 BB
102 K
Also had 4 saves.

He might be pretty good next year.
