Anyone who said DC was going pro is not an insider.

Daniel Cabrera is a 2017 OF/LHP with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from River Ridge, LA who attends John Curtis Christian HS. Medium athletic build, has good present strength, fairly mature physically. Left handed hitter, very polished approach, deep hand load with a good shift into contact, gets his hips coiled and loaded, very good feel for the barrel, has quick and loose hands, squares the ball up with consistent line drive pull contact, ball gets surprising carry with backspin when lifted. 7.09 runner, fields the ball cleanly out front, left field arm strength, makes soft accurate throws. Also pitched, strike thrower with a mid-80's fastball and big curveball. Good student, verbal commitment to Louisiana State.
This is from his PG profile. All there is to know about him

Stephen Keller is no longer a part of the recruiting class. He will be going to Grayson College in Texas if he doesn't sign with the team that drafted him
god damn, this class did somewhat fall apart. Reyes, Mccabe, Miller, and the Alabama pitcher jumping ship
It did not turn out near what Mainieri was hoping for, I can tell you that.
Any word on if Cam Sanders is definitely signing or not?

Why is it disappointing, We're going to get Stortz, Cabrera & Webre. Vietmeier, Petersen, Kodros & Fontenot, Doesn't seem that bad

LINK
Link for the updated stats for the Danville Dans. I heard Doolittle had a walk off Grand Slam last night and went 2-2. Webre was 2-4 with a HR, 2b and 2 RBI's. Templet didn't play but looks like he is having a pretty good summer to date. Great to hear that both incoming freshman are doing so well. Apparently they intentionally walked Webre last night to pitch to Doolittle...didn't turn out to be a good decision LOL

Interesting to see if there is a spot for Webre next season

I wonder if he can play third base.

seems like he could...I think he has primarily played OF,1st and some C but seems very athletic and versatile. Last I heard Templet's arm was still very below avg. Not sure if he will ever fully recover from the multiple labrum surgeries he had in HS. If this is accurate then 3rd would def not be the right spot for him.

Not disappointing, just not what he was hoping for. Remember, we lost like 3-4 commits when Cannizaro jumped ship. We lost at least 1 maybe even 2 more top guys to the draft than Mainieri was wanting. Then one of our top commits who got drafted decided to jump ship on us and go to JUCO instead (Keller) if he doesnt get the money he wants from the pro team.
Not a disaster or disappointment by any means, but it could have turned out better is all I'm saying. We have some talented guys in this class for sure.

No, we didn't.

I guess I should have had since "since" not necessarily "when". Counting Keller in that if he winds up going JUCO.

He can. Not sure if he will. He's a pretty darn good player. I've watched him play several times over the past 4 years and in my opinion I believe he'll compete for playing time. He's got some power in his swing!

Hayden Travinski, class of 2019 commit, has transferred to Airline High for his junior and senior year. Look for them to make a deep run next spring.

New 2017 commit
S/O to AJ Labas 2017 RHP Jax, FL. For his commitment to @LSUbaseball #mafia @PerfectGameUSA
Jheremy Brown of Perfect Game
Nice pickup to the 2017 class for #LSU. Had been North Florida commit who had coaching change. Strong build w/ feel to pitch; low-90s FB.

Awesome, thanks. I'll get him added to the list.
ETA: He just got drafted by the Mets in the 17th round the other day and committed to LSU after that. I think that means he's coming to campus.

There is an MLB PDP event in Houston today. It's for 2018 and 2019 kids. Rye Gunter and Riggs Threadgill are participating. These events will be more common after last year was kind of the trial run year for it. It helps get good scouting reports for these younger prospects from the MLB Scouting Bureau.
