Pearson was hitting .464 coming into last night. He went 4-4 with 2 triples, a double, and a single. Didn't get another chance for the cycle since the game ended after 5.

Farmer Abendroth - RHP
Warren Central (Vicksburg, MS)
Ht/Wt: 6'4" 160
B/T: R/R
This kid is gonna be something special when he gains a little bit of weight and works on finishing innings. Know him personally and he is a great kid who has a good attitude towards the game

Per Jheremy Brown of Perfect Game LSU picked up a new 2019 Commit from Florida in Shortstop Rece Hinds.

This kid is apparently the rel deal. He's immediately the top ranked guy in the 2019 class, which so far includes Maurice Hampton, who was formerly in the top 10 (and is also a highly touted football recruit), Christian Cairo, Team USA member and son of Miguel Cairo, and Cade Doughty, do-it-all standout on Team USA.

There may be another commit based on nolan cain's twitter. Still trying to find more info.

Here is a feature story on '17 RHP Commit Trent Vietmeier. Not really giving any indication on his thoughts entering the draft, not that he should be at this time.
Post-Gazette.com
I've got him as a high draft risk, but it doesn't mean he's definitely gone. Peterson and Hess were similar last year.

Nick Storz, '17 RHP, recently began his season in New York. He was touching 94 mph on the gun and had multiple MLB scouts on hand.
LMTonline.com
He is another high draft risk.

So another kid that will never make it to campus?

We've had similarly touted players make it to campus.

Who are the most highly touted players in next years class? Guys that are actually expected to make it to LSU.

Draft Bonus Pools have been finalized: Baseball America
Overall it looks like bonus money is down in later parts of the first ten rounds. Actually starting at pick 60 the money is lower than the slot money from last year. I haven't done the math yet to see if overall bonus pool money is lower. If it is, that helps us. Still we don't want any of our recruits drafted by the Twins or the Reds.

It is right now. But it will change the closer we get to the draft. Right now I have Mason Doolittle as a high draft risk because he's a well known prospect that has participated in all the big scouting things like Area Codes and Team USA trials. But he's also already set to go play in the Prospect League where Josh Smith played last summer. I could probably bump him down to a medium risk, since it looks like he's genuinely intent on coming to LSU, but his talent and projectibility still make him a risk to sign.
We still aren't in the season of huge long prospect lists and multiple round mock drafts that help get a consensus of where a guy might be rated.

Pearson hit two more homeruns tonight. That's 4 so far this week in 2 games. He's on fire.

What's up with the kid from Curtis? I see they're doing well as a team but I don't see any mention of him in the articles. Is he hurt or something?
Posted on 4/10/17 at 12:18 pm to D011ahbi11
2017 commit Daniel Cabrera transferred from Curtis to Parkview for his senior year.
2018 commit Will Ripoll transferred into Curtis from Texas and is sitting out this year due to transfer rules. Tulane commit Cade Beloso also transferred to Curtis from Texas but is playing this year, from what I understand. I'm not sure what was different in the two kids circumstances though.

You're welcome. That Curtis team has a ton of talent.

Pearson hit 5 homeruns this week, plus a double and triple off the fence. Kid is absolutely killing the ball.

I really hope we can get him to campus. Day 1 OF starter.
