Chavez isn't close to anywhere near a million. Maybe some other school will pay it, but good on LSU for knowing where they stand.

There are ZERO women’s CBB players “worth” even 20% of that amount. Even though LSU is a good and popular program, it’s still the biggest money loser in the athletic department because the expenses far exceed the revenue generated.

Clark is an outlier in the sport. Yet, players are now thinking that should be the norm in terms of popularity and marketing. If I got a demand from a player for a $1M NIL deal I would politely tell her to go find it elsewhere…and when you don’t, feel free to give me a call

I would imagine that's probably how the conversation went. She's not going to get that.

Agree with your comments. No WBB HS recruit is worth $1.35 million before she even graduates HS. I understand why Kim and LSU backed off Chavez bidding game. After 2 years, Flaujae has $1.4 million NIL at LSU, and she has earned every dollar. And she recently signed 2 new NIL's so she will be higher than $1.4 million.

imagine getting paid more in college than WNBA players

Their are QB’s in college making more than Brock Purdy, think about that.

if she was asking that much from LSU she likely has a nice offer on the table from someone else.

Could be.
That should have no impact on how LSU allocates its resources.
Kim will not be led into error by the bad judgment of others.
