LSU 2024 Team Recruiting ranking due to State of LA player rankings lowest in years.

It's one factor, at least. Not the only factor. Obviously LSU as missed on highly ranked players this year, as well.
Rankings based on 247 Sports Team and Composite Rankings for Louisiana.
2024
LA Top Ten Avg: 177
LSU LA Top 10 Recruits = 7
2023
LA Top Ten Avg: 103
LSU LA Top 10 Recruits = 4
2022
LA Top Ten Avg: 67
LSU LA Top 10 Recruits = 3
2021
LA Top Ten Avg: 148
LSU LA Top 10 Recruits = 6
2020
LA Top Ten Avg: 146
LSU LA Top 10 Recruits = 3
The No. 3 player in LA does even break the national top 100 - McBride, S, No. 108.
IMO the services are undervaluing Louisiana players in this 2024 class, and LSU is more talented than the rankings indicate.

Our in-state recruiting sucks this year. We let a lot of the best players get away, and the out of state recruiting hasn’t been good enough to make up for it.

LSU has more top 10 recruits from Louisiana than any year since 2019.
Of the top 10 Louisiana recruits, LSU signed
2024 = 7 (Committed not yet signed)
2023 = 4
2022 = 3
2021 = 6
2020 = 3
The 2019 Class signed 8 of the top 10 from Louisiana, and most of those guys didn't contribute at LSU. Stignley was the No. 1, and he was only healthy for the 2019 season.

More than anything it's our inability to bring in some highly rated DLinemen and DBs that is a HUGE concern.
Gotta hit the portal hard again and it has been a huge letdown especially in the CB position year after year.

Our defensive tackle recruiting has been abysmal for several cycles now. Just look at the highest rated DL in the portal. They originally had numerous offers from SEC schools but hardly any got an offer from LSU. That goes back to O but it hasn’t improved much yet.

It’s either 247 or On3 but LSU is outside the top 10 on both I imagine. I’m not going to dive into it today I just like to report news

Just looking at DT in Louisiana, you almost have to hit the portal if you miss on the out of state guys.
