Payne just committed to UF. Believe he was supposed to visit this past weekend.

They canceled Payne's visit because of the tragedy of Sims, WW will get him to campus I'm sure at some point.

I know why they cancelled it, just saying that sucks because it probably cost us him. Very rarely do bball players flip.

that was awfully considerate of Payne to have so much empathy for the LSU coaching staff given recent events!

Not sure why you got downvoted.....It’s true

My understanding is that LSU was gong to sign up to four for the early signing period. Do you think that do to the unfortunate circumstances to the death of Wayde Sims, other programs will use the information against prospective LSU recruits?

Miami
Oregon

Does anyone have any updated info on which players are seriously considering LSU? I know James Bishop recently committed but LSU will need to replace at least 3 players for next season. Wayde (this is heart breaking) Edwards and Bigby-Wiliams. A SF, SG and C/PF. Bishop takes one spot. According to 247 sports Lester Quinones is CB'd 100 percent to LSU. Not that I put much emphasis on Crystal Ball projections. Tyreek Smith was CB'd to LSU 100 percent at one time. But if no one leaves early for the NBA it seems LSU will need to be selective who they offer. Just wondering if anyone has news on who LSU expects to be signing in the early period.

You've got two seniors in Edwards and Bigby-Williams. Barring season-ending injuries, Naz Reid and Tremont Waters are as good as gone. And then unfortunately we move up to 5 spots because of Sims (RIP bud).
Losing the inconsiderate Omar Payne hurts, but I think they're hoping for a class of:
Bishop
Quinnones
Charles Manning
CJ Walker
Trendon Watford
Then you have other guys like DJ Jeffries, Kofi Cockburn, Qudus Wahab and Quenton Jackson (although Manning likely took his spot).
They aren't after many right now, but I'd imagine with the loss of Sims, they'll look heavily into the JuCo bigs to try and add one to provide some depth there.
You also have the small chance that 2020 big N'Faly Dante reclassifies to 2019, but that likely wouldn't drop until the spring

I’d definitely bet on them getting a JUCO big unless Dante reclassifies. Losing Payne hurts big time. He might end up being a Jordan Mickey type shot blocker. I’m a little curious why they want a JUCO wing. A few solid HS guys that can play 2/3 are out there, unless they don’t like any of them enough to give them a 4 year ride.

Let me throw a name of a player that hasn’t been mentioned yet. LSU is also recruiting 6’7 G/F Attis Taylor out of Southwest Miss CC along with West Virginia, Va Tech among others. The kid has major “hops” and is deadly from three. He is one player that I hope they sign. He is a real beast. The kids game is very similar to Scottie P.

Sounds a lot like Marlon Taylor honestly

CJ Walker pushed back his UF official visit to Oct 12-14. Has he set one for LSU?
Billy Embody tweeted yesterday that Walker's official visit has been set. Not sure about when it's going to be.

Hopefully Payne going to Florida opened that door back up for Walker for us. I would rather Walker way over Payne

C.J. Walker is scheduled to visit on Oct 19th

Both are very good. Payne brings more of a true post game especially defensively so I wouldn’t say we needed it wanted one more than the other. If anything, Watford and Walker have a more similar game as both are 4’s with potential to develope into 3’s. Payne is a 5 who might develope to a 4.

I really likes Payne but..... Getting both Watford and Walker would be big, obviously. Kofi looks good, very athletic for a player his size. I don't know what happened with Tyreek unless the staff backed off a bit when they realized they had a realistic shot at both the afore mentioned bigs. I guess the LSU staff believe they have a really good shot at these bigs. Anyway, thank.

With the good prospects of Oregon going on probation for offering cash to Brian Bowen it appears that the logical choice will be between LSU and Miami for CJ Walker.
